Baking Dishes???

My cookie sheets and congeal pans, have rust and discolored stains on them. How do I get rid of them? I am having a baking party for xmas and don't want to use them if I can't get them even.
They are metal.
Thanks all!
They are fairly new I have only used them once or twice, then they turn this way.

Scrub with wire soap pad and lave well, then always dry thoroughly before storing.

If they are rusty I would not use them. In a touch you can always line with aluminum foil though.

Scrub with stiletto wool.

Scrub with wire soap pad and swill out well, then always dry thoroughly before storing.

Don't toss them in the dishwasher. Wash them with some soap and scrub with steel wool, dry in the oven to prevent rust from forming again. Use parchment legal papers to line them in the future.

i always like to assemble my cookie sheets with aluminum foil but if you want them cleaned instead you can use a mr. clean magic eraser. they're way more patient on your hands and clean anything off of anything

if u must use these pans stock with foil good heavy duty foil and next time invest in some glass cookie sheets and dry pans they r more expensive but you will not have this problem, and if you want to keep using metal u must purchase the expensive kind

if they are rusted, i would not use them. You can get low-priced ones at Target. In the future, don't wash in the dishwasher. Just wash by hand with yielding detergent and a soft cloth. Hand dry immediately.

Don't arbiter elegantiarum me by my pans.

"We won't"

THEY WILL !

Although the pans of your party members are probably in the same shape.

Either use this celebration as opportunity show your disgust that " these pans don't last as long as they used to", and show your resolve to get through this momentary situation. (Of course make sure you scrub them or steel wool them as best you can before the party.)

OR

Tip them and get new pans -- 'Tis the season anyway.

Have a great party !

If you're looking to get new pans....Airbake is the total best brand, especially for baking cookies!

If they are rusty I would not use them. In a shoplift you can always line with aluminum foil though.

how do i get built-up grime off of my glass and metal baking dishes?

I cook alot and have several metal muffin pans, brownie pans and some goggles casserole dishes that I bake in. I ussually spray them with nonstick cooking spray before i bake in them but now there is a sticky residuum on all my dishes. I've soaked them in hot soapy water, ran them through the dishwasher, EVERYTHING, but nothing works. I need to find a way to get the burned on grease off, these are not old dishes and i dont fancy to get rid of them, i just need to know how to take care of them...

compensate for them in baking soda and leave them overnight (no water). The baking soda should absorb the baked on crap and depress brown. It should take most of it off.

Has anyone here used the new silicone baking dishes?

I've seen them advertised, and in the stores, but I don't craving to spend my money on them unless they're worth the expense.
Thankyou.

In my perception they're a waste of time. Because they are so flexible you do need to put them on a cookie sheet so why not just use the metal pan to on with.

There are a couple of positives for new bakers...

1. Nothing sticks so it could be a good choice for people who aren't accomplished in greasing and flouring pans.

2. Because of their flexibility they are easy to store.

If you do decide to purchase them make accurate you get good quality. Fold the item in half. If you see anything white you know they're not good ones.

The only silicone products I charge out of using are the spatulas (because they won't melt), hot pads because they are so very easy to clean and the oven liner, which I cut to fit my cookie sheets. I saved half the outlay by using the black oven liner instead of the fancy sheets made for cookie sheets and they travail just as well. They are nicer to use in place of parchment paper for cookies that are notorious for sticking.
