i had someone give me this horrifying ideas for christmas to make a basket for my family members with baked goods. im looking for recipe ideas to fill it. i discern its really far in advance, but i want to try out some of the recipies first before i force my family to eat them lol. im a little new at cooking. any ideas or websites i could try?
Chocolate covered pretzels.
This philosophy isn't something you bake,but when my sister made some for gifts last year,everyone loved them.
It's best to use salted pretzels and then judge any or all types of bakers chocolate to melt over them.She then put them in little bags and tied a ribbon at the top.So cute.
I honourable went apple picking and have a ton of apples, any suggestions for yummy treats to make with them?
I forget what exemplar they are, green, good for baking with, I know that much!
1. apple bread:
Apple Bread
1 cup sugar
1/2 cup vegetable shortening
1 teaspoon vanilla
2 eggs
1 tablespoon buttermilk
2 cups sifted Self-Rising Flour
1 teaspoon grated lemon peel
1 1/2 cups chopped peeled working girl apples
1 tablespoon sugar
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Grease bottom of 9 x 5 x 3-inch fuck the dog waste pan; set aside. Cream 1 cup sugar, shortening, and vanilla with electric mixer in mixing bowl until fluorescent and fluffy. Add eggs and buttermilk; blend well. Add flour; blend well. Stir in lemon peel and apples. Gush into prepared pan. Combine 1 tablespoon sugar and cinnamon; sprinkle over batter. Bake 1 hour, or until toothpick inserted in center comes out unstained. Cool in pan 10 minutes. Gently loosen sides of loaf. Turn out onto wire stand to cool completely.
2. apple nut bars:
1 cup all-purpose flour
1 cup granulated sugar
1/2 teaspoon cautiously
1/4 teaspoon baking powder
2 eggs, well beaten
1/4 cup melted margarine
1/3 cup raisins
1 cup pecans, chopped
1 cup finely chopped apples
1/2 teaspoon vanilla
1/4 teaspoon cinnamon
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. In a jumbo bowl, mix together the flour, sugar, salt, and baking powder. Add the remaining ingredients and mix well. Place the batter in a greased 9" x 13" baking pan. Bake for 40 to 50 minutes or until the edges are brilliant. Remove from oven and cut into bars while still warm, not hot. Note: Before serving, you might want to roll the bars in confectioner's sugar or spread with a cream cheese frosting. Perchance serve them with whipped topping as a dip or serve plain as a great snack cookie.
3. Apple Deluxe Block:
2 eggs
1 cup oil
2 cups sugar
1 cup chopped dates
6 ounces butterscotch chips
3 cups all-steadfastness flour
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon soda
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
1 teaspoon vanilla draw
1 cup coconut
1 cup chopped pecans
3 1/2 cups shredded apples
Combine eggs, oil and sugar in heavy-set bowl; mix well. Coat dates and butterscotch chips with a small amount of flour. Stir into egg mixture. Add extant flour, salt, soda, cinnamon, vanilla, coconut, pecans and apples, mixing well after each appendage. Spoon into greased 9x 13-inch cake pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 45 minutes. Garnish with whipped topping. Give over 12 servings.
4.Baked Cinnamon Apples:
4 baking apples
1/2 cup packed brown sugar
4 teaspoons butter
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
Expel core from apples. Peel upper half of apple or 1-inch strip from middle to ward splitting. Place upright in baking dish. Place 2 tablespoons brown sugar, 1 teaspoon butter and 1/8 teaspoon cinnamon in center of each apple. Cascade water into baking dish to 1/4-inch depth. Bake at 375 degrees for 30 to 40 minutes or until proposal when pierced with fork, basting several times. May omit water and microwave for 6 to 8 minutes. Rome Knockout, Golden Delicious and Greening are good baking apples to use. May substitute grenadine syrup for brown sugar or fail cinnamon and place 1 tablespoon granola, 2 teaspoons brown sugar and 1 teaspoon butter in each apple. Give up the fight: 4 servings.
5. Grandmom's Apple Pie:
5 to 6 cooking apples - Rome Apples a reliable choice
3/4 cup sugar
3 tablespoons corn starch
2 tablespoons lemon juice or 1 tablespoon vinegar
3 tablespoons cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
3 tablespoons butter
hurry of salt
2 pie crust (top and bottom)
Peel and slice apples. Add lemon juice and toss. Sprinkle some of sugar and cinnamon in bottom of crust. Add 1 tablespoon of corn starch. Put half of apple slices in crust. Add half of sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg and 1 tablespoon corn starch. Recount layering of apples, sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg and cornstarch. Apples will pile high in pie crust. Dot with butter. Top apples with transfer crust. Seal crust. Cut vents in top. Bake 50 to 60 minutes or until done. Yield: 8 servings.
I exceptionally enjoy cooking but im only able to do the basics like baking sponge cakes, buns etc!! I would like some low calorie options or even substitutions for butter, caster sugar etc
CHOCOLATE TORTE WITH APRICOT Wadding
CAKE:
6 Egg Whites
3/4 Cup plus 1 Tablespoon
Sugar
1 Teaspoon Vanilla Extract
1/2 Cup plus 1 Tablespoon Flour
1/2 Cup Unsweetened Cocoa Control
1 Teaspoon Allspice, ground
1 Teaspoon Cinnamon, ground
1/4 Teaspoon Nutmeg, ground
2 Teaspoons Unflavored Gelatin 1 Teaspoon Vanilla Pull out
1 Ounce Hazelnuts, chopped
FROSTING AND FILLING:
1 1/2 Cups Fat Free Ricotta Cheese
1/4 Cup bonus 2 Tablespoons Unsweetened Cocoa Powder
2 Tablespoons Instant Espresso Powder
3 Tablespoons Sugar
2 Teaspoons Vanilla Draw
3/4 Cup Apricot All Fruit Spread
Strawberries for Garnish
Preheat Oven to 350°. Spray two 8" all over cake pans, with non-stick cooking spray. In a large bowl, using an electric mixer, club egg whites, sugar, vanilla until thick and tripled in volume, about 7 minutes. In medium bowl, sift flour, cocoa, allspice, cinnamon and nutmeg. Gently crinkle the dry ingredients into the egg mixture, until smooth. Divide the mixture between the two cake pans. Bake about 15 minutes. Meanwhile storm the frosting. In a food processor or blender, process the ricotta cheese, cocoa, espresso vigour, and sugar, vanilla, until smooth. Cover and chill until ready to use. When the cake is cooled, split each layer in half. Spread the bottom half on each layer with some of the apricot spread. Carefully refund the top halves. Spread some of the apricot spread over the bottom half of cake. Add the second layer, and spread over the intact cake. Garnish with strawberries.
