i yearning to find some good recipes but all the cook books i have have bland crappy recipes i want something not to difficult like a gourmet dinner but i can cook so just as long as the ingredients are easy to find and not to expensive. i like garlic onions the works i aversion curry blah and id rather have like southern food / barbeque / ohh and definitely lamb

What is (in your opinion) the best cook book or cook books?

Basically, I've marked to buy a cook book to learn brand new recipes. So, I was wondering if any of you yahoo users own or know of any cook books that are really well-thought-of and provide tasty recipes. Thank you so much!

The most appropriate general use cookbook I own is the Better Homes and Gardens new Cook Book (it's the red and white plaid one). It has recipes from lucid to complex and lots of stuff easy enough that we've incorporated them into daily meal making. Also lots of collection.

My other favourite is the "Complete Canadian Living Cookbook" - excellent recipes, we've loved everything I've tried.

Both cookbooks have leap, step by step directions - although neither have oodles of photos if that is what you're looking for.

For pure "fun" cookbooks - ie. a recreation to read as well as cook with - Jamie Oliver or Nigella Larson are wonderful.

Happy cooking!

Does anyone know any good Cook books?

I sweet cooking and I'm getting tired of makeing the same meals over and over again for my brother, step-dad, and mom. So I'm stressful to find different cook books to try to get them to try something other then home made pizza. Does anyone have any suggestions?

The superlative all around cook book is The JOY of Cooking, famed chef Julia Child once said that if she could have only one cook book that would be it. I've had one for over 30 years.
