Cookbook...?

I am putting together a Kith and kin Cookbook; pls share ideas as to how I can put together a great family cookbook. I want to include a recipe from each family member and photo's.

I condign learned about this site a few days ago and it is definitely the way I 'm going to do my cookbook. I am compiling all my recipes to make stable I can hand them down to my kids and grandkids too. The end result here is a professional looking book complete with pictures and I can't pause to get started. Good luck on your project. Here is the link: http://www.tastebook.com/home/watch_demo

I stony-broke mine up into family favorites (the every day stuff), and holiday specials.... the kids seemed to really like that.

I also did a cut up of "How Mom fixes things when they go terribly wrong!" which is all the shortcuts and quick fixes I've well-versed over the years, both my older kids said they've used something out of that section more than once already! LOL

One of the easiest ways is to start by novel categories:
appetizers, breads, sides, mains, desserts, etc. If you want to get crafty, they have scrapbooking kits at Michaels, Aim for you make something like this.

Why not perfectly separate the recipes into snacks, breakfast, lunch and dinner and then have the recipe on the right and the recipe giver on the sinistral? You may also consider buying a binder machine because having it professionally done would cost soooooo much (about the same as buying the swill to do it) and you know that other family members are going to want a copy so then you have the tools to make next Christmas's presents.

You might destitution to make a cooking website first to get your recipes organized etc. This is mine:
http://recipecircus.com/recipes/FFAp/
You can find out how to get one of your own there too^_^

Perhaps get some funny stories from family members about things that happened to them while they were cooking. Disasters are always funny, [ after the actuality ] maybe some history on there recipe. Don't forget the collage students they usually have some good stories on eats they have eaten while in school.men that hunt or fish also have some great food recipes and stories. Good Success rate & Have Fun!

I bought one that a relatives had published and it had comments above the recipes of the special occassions it was served at or how the recipe came to be a family favorite. It was a enjoyably touch. Some family cookbooks I have seen have photos of the family included.

Can you recommend a cookbook with simple, low calorie meals?

I'm looking for a cookbook that has unsophisticated, low-calorie/healthy recipes for main dishes that don't include ingredients that need to be purchaced at a specialty pile up. Basically I just want a cookbook that has recipes with foods that I probably already have in my fridge or cupboard or can easily be bought at the resident grocery store. Any that you can reccomend?
.....or even a website with healthy, easy to make meals would be great too.

"The Win out over Light Recipe" by America's Test Kitchen
I bought this as a wedding drop gift for my friend & she loved it.

Cooking Light publishes cookbooks annually focusing on the excellent recipes of that year. Available @ bookstores; search for free shipping or discounts (sales, Costco, etc.)

You can try out a few of the recipes on their website first:
www.cookinglight.com - limited access for public, unlimited access w/ obligation to magazine or access code from current month's issue.

Note: If you decide to subscribe to the publication, be sure to opt out of marketing programs. The publisher sent me a cookbook about wine I did not order. I was able to return it & have them pay the postage.

I canceled my arsenal subscription any way to avoid future hassles.

What Cookbook is one where you look up things by ingredients instead of finished dishes?

I'm worrying to find a cookbook that works in the reverse. Instead of looking up finished dishes and then it telling you how to make it, the one I am thinking of tells you things to buy in the supermarket, and the contrary things you can make with it. I'm pretty sure something like this exists...I just forget the name of it. Any staff? Thanks!
I appreciate the advice so far, but I'm looking for a physical book, not a website. I heard something like it mentioned by others in the ago. Thanks!

Such a fixation does exist. There goes your millions. :(

It's a website called recipe matcher.
