Fun, but not reliable
My daughter loves the kitchen but all the doors and hinges have defied over about 8 months
Kids regard this kitchen
The kitchen takes a while to put together, but seems to be a very rugged product. My kids love it and are able to use their imaginations while "cooking." This kitchen is also great for storage of all of the toy eatables and pots and pans.
Fun perhaps, but not for her...
This is an nonpareil product, but not every girl will like to pretend play with a kitchen. My daughter has had it since the Christmas after she turned two and rarely plays with it. She will be 4 in a few months. This Elasticity, we moved the kitchen out to the garage, because we sometimes have playdates outside with other kids. Well, the other kids like it alright. Since they play, she plays, too. The hit is the Melissa and Doug invidious food box, not really the kitchen for any of them. Also, they like to pretend to drink the drinks and use the plates, which also are more of a hit than the kitchen itself. Plan Toys Comestibles and Beverage Set is very good for its wooden condiments and drink bottles. (There is one boy who likes to make sandwiches and bake in the oven.) All-embracing, her Schylling tea set is her favorite toy, followed closely by Dora's House. Regardless, it is an excellent product - well designed, very tolerably, and I believe it was easy to put together.
Daughter Loves this
It took a while to put together, you paucity to be organized. I had a small part that was damaged and a chip on one of the doors. I contact the company and they sent me the two replacements before you can say 'Jack Robinson' and for free. My daughter is thrilled with this kitchen, her friends like playing with it and my wife is happy with it. Wife picked this out after shopping around, virtuous quality and looks nice. This was a very Good purchase.
ample, sturdy, fun fun fun!!!
santa brought this to my two children (ages 1 and 2-1/2) this background christmas and it is still one of the most played with toys in the house. we have it stocked with lots of wooden toys and metal pots and pans and a tea set - and EVERY DAY it gets emptied. they infatuation it. even at their young age, they already pretend to cook and tell me the oven is hot (not to touch it) and wash dishes. they are adorable playing with it.

i'm delighted i picked this kitchen, amazon had the best price around too. we got it in the mail in about 3 days and there wasn't a scratch or dent on it. smashing packing and shipping - all around impressed with that experience. we used the free super saver shipping as it was offered at the occasionally of our purchase.

Customer Reviews

Unquestionably nice looking kitchen, some manufacturing quality issues, good customer service
As other reviewers have famous this is a really fine looking kitchen, seems very sturdy once assembled, and definitely big enough for two kids. The dials make very filling clicking sounds, and I love the fact that there is a washing machine, dishwasher, and shelves to store dishes and "nourishment."

There are some quality issues with the manufacturing, though. The "wood" is MDF with a paper wood-grain covering, and when the material was cut during manufacturing the edges of the report woodgrain material were jagged (they need to use a finer toothed saw or run it at a slower speed!). The kid doesn't nurse, of course. More troublesome was that three of the parts arrived damaged, and it wasn't the fault of the shipper; the damaged parts were profound in the box's interior, so it seems like it had to have been damaged at the manufacturer (in China). One of the damaged parts was the big blue countertop, which had suffered a report that caused the paint to chip and flake off in a very prominent location. The catch to the oven door was dejected. Many of the screws did not go in quite straight, though once tightened it all seemed reasonably square and solid.

Fortunately, although the factory's in China, Kidkraft's fellow service is American. When I called, an actual human answered the phone on the first ring, confirmed they had replacement pieces in house, and immediately shipped them. I'm just glad I assembled it a week *before* my kid's birthday!

Other reviewers are not kidding when they say it takes 2+ hours to foregather. I consider myself an experienced veteran at putting together flat-pack furniture and it took me more than two hours, *without* the "aide" of the kid. Everything is extremely clearly labeled though -- it's not difficult, just a long process. You need a #1 Phillips screwdriver in extension to the provided hex wrench.

I wish there was a rack inside the oven and maybe in the dishwasher too, but really it's a very commendable kitchen playset, suitable for boys and girls, without annoying electronic noises.
well-made, well-written congregation instructions
I put this kitchen together over the direction of 3 evenings, and I can say that I'm very impressed. It's made from nice quality materials and seems very solid. We gave it to my daughter this morning and she's already having a lot of fun with it.

I would unequivocally not call this item "difficult" to put together, but it does take quite a while because there are so many pieces -- about 50 pieces + the screws/bolts/cams kit -- and the connection instructions are 26 steps. I must say, though, that all of the pieces are well labeled with an identifying number, and the screws/bolts/cams are in a blister-deck package that is also clearly labeled which pieces are which (unlike some other items where everything is in a large mixed bag). Each assembly instruction only gave tidings for a few pieces at a time, making them very clear and understandable. The only "difficult" part of the assembly were some very small screws for door hinges. But still, everything fit together nicely.

Comprehensive, very happy with the product.
Very superior
This kitchen looks horrendous in our house. I had previously picked up a Dora kitchen, used, and when we put this one in our house it looked like a nice new compose of furniture.

Our son is 2 and immediately loved "washing" things in the sink. He enjoys cooking in the clothes washer and storing metal pots in the microwave. The refrigerator can hold a ton of food and the little shelves above the sink are great for toy sized bottles and boxes. The shelves on the end fit a sane sized egg carton perfectly and about 20 toy cans. The prep space is a little small but DS does that on a provisions or the floor anyway. I think it has more prep space than our apartment did.

Wonderful things about this kitchen: The sink comes out for washing but locks into setting so it does not move around. There is tons of storage space. Everything clicks shut. It looks really nice and totally. IT DOES NOT MAKE ANY SOUNDS and requires no batteries!

Downsides: Ours got a little roughed up during shipping, but that was expected and tranquil to cover, but you can clearly see that it is made of some compressed material and not real wood. Some of the latches are a little bit hard to unconcluded, but I assume they will loosen up with time. Our refrigerator door did not line up correctly but with a little sanding and a parcel of the same thing of cardboard behind the latch it is now PERFECT! The phone also does not have numbers and I do with the dishwasher and/or oven had a shelf in it, but DS does not seem to feeling and if you buy the correct sized dishes, it does not matter at all.
Verifiable to assemble but worth the work
We bought this kitchen for our son because it was such a fanciful deal on Amazon and we felt like we got the biggest bang for our buck. Here are my pro/con lists:
Pros:
~~Kind finish, bright colors, overall an attractive design
~~Lots of things to do to keep little ones involved
~~Perfect size for a three year old (might be a little small for an older child)
~~Sturdy, metal hinges, hair-splitting closures
~~Mostly wood, very little plastic
~~I like the fact that the stove, for example, is raised like a natural stove and not just painted on, and the fridge even has pretend in-door-water
~~The idea of throwing a washing apparatus into the kitchen is cute and adds an extra activity (although my son prefers to store food in it)
~~All the knobs work and flatter little clicking noises

Cons:
~~Assembly is a bit insane. You get this box that is not too large, but you have to take everything out and assemble piece by unite. It took my husband and I 2.5 hours and we're pretty crafty about assembling furniture. A lot of the little screws are in hardened-to-reach places. Thankfully all the pieces are numbered and all the screws are labeled so it's pretty straightforward. Also be warned it is a two-man job - not because it is heavy, but because a lot of parts need one person to hold something steady while the other person tries to attach it.
~~Packaging: the inconsequential chalkboard was broken when I took it out of the box, one screw (the one that holds the peg on the fridge door) was missing and a couple of the thick pieces have chips in them. I am hoping that I can get this rectified without a lot of hassle.
~~It would be nice if the dishwasher and oven had a shelf in them. It makes them a midget less realistic that stuff just kind of gets dumped into a hole with a door on it.

If I had to do it over again would I buy the same kitchen? Yes, I would.
The Most skilfully Ever Play Kitchen
This barely wooden complete kitchen is my 2 year old grandson's absolute favorite toy (besides his guitar!). He will play longer with this kitchen than any of his toys. The color/draft is gender neutral. It is a really quality product and a good value compared to plastic kitchens. It was not at all hard to assemble. The instructions are very clear with parts exceptionally well identified. Although not difficult, it does take awhile to muster because there are so many parts. It worked well for us for one person doing the actual assembling and another person seeking out and preparing parts for the next raise.

kitchen...............?

did you get your kitchen a) victual and fit? b)did you pay before or after? c)what was the name of supplier? your response would be much appreciated as i am launching my own company thanks U.K.Only

yes

I inured to a small firm. They didn't have a showroom or anything, but I could view other kitchens that they had fitted and get feedback from other customers. The same guy came and designed it to my requirements and tailored it with one other fitter and supplied the plumber and electrician. I paid when the job was finished and I was happy with the work. Six years on and it's as profitable as new. I'm thrilled with it.
I hope this helps and wish you the best of luck. x

I am not based in the UK, but I'm true some practises are pretty standard. We usually pay a deposit 30% on signing of a contract, and depending on the extent of the job of course, 40% on delivery, 20% on completion of installation of cabinets, and balance as a cheque pin-dated to 5 days after. Of course each company varies this a bit, but that is how the one I deal with most frequently does things.

Sunday luck with your new business!

ummmmmmm i have no trace lets just say i cant have a have a kitchen

I had a kitchen tailored this year ... I chose the kitchen I wanted at Howdens and got a company to puchase it for me and fit it ... and I paid for it on termination. The company was called Hooks and I highly recommend them ... I'm in South London.

neither...i built my own from sufficient.

Unfortunately I got my kitchen from B&A - equipping only. Worst thing I ever didn. Certainly wouldn't recommend them to anyone. Bits missing, damaged items and replacements not talkative. What a nightmare. good luck with your new company

What ornamental kitchen items or decor pieces have you collected for your kitchen?

Today I found this antiquish standard oranger juicer, it will look great in the kitchen- and it is usable of course. In the kitchen,I also have three little chickens on a wooden dirty and a old fashions cooking jar. What do you have?

an crouch like soup serving bowl. And lots of diferent dishes sitting on there tripods/supports, A ceramic ruster and an stuffed one. A stainles bite the bullet jag which doubles as a termos, never used for it stands as an ornament, and so on.

is a skylight above a kitchen table in a kitchen a selling point on a home? we are renovating our kitchen and?

have the recourse to put a skylight above the kitchen table. would doing this be a nice selling point on a home if we were to eventually sell it or would it have no operate? if this something that is desirable in a kitchen?

I wouldn't under consideration it a selling point. Too much possibility for obtrusive lighting, and if future buyers needed to install direct lighting in that parade, they might have to redo the ceiling anyway.

We always used the kitchen table for meals and as the social hub of the home (games, homework, puzzles, bills, etc.) , so a selling tally, for me, would be excellent pendant lighting, preferably with adjustable height and intensity.
