Silicone bakeware?

I recently got a silicone baking mat. I've been unsatisfying one for a while. The only problem? I go to use the thing, and it's flimsy! How am I supposed to use that for baking when I have no idea how to get it into the oven with the unbaked goods on it, and then back out of the oven with the baked stop on it? The only thing I can figure is to put it on a conventional baking sheet. Is that a good idea?

The mats are made to use with a baking bed-sheet. Just make sure the mat doesn't hang over the edges of the sheet.

A silpat is designed to go on a cookie layer.

That's what it's meant for. Traverse sure it fits on the baking sheets you already have and just bake as you would normally. They are designed to ensure that what you put on it won't jut out and for easy clean-up. If you use it for cookies, or fancier things like sugar or chocolate decorations, they should be very leisurely to remove.

Take your baking gazette (the one provided with the oven), place your silicone mat and fill it with your preparation and then put the whole thing into the oven. Remember that if you're using a silicone mould with uncommon patterns on it (some of them have funky shapes like a sunflower etc ), it will not work very well with creme caramel and all compressible puddings (it's not easy to get it out of the mould). It will only work with cakes and breads.

How do you keep food from sticking to silicone bakeware?

I good received silicone bakeware for my birthday. I brushed it with oil, floured, poured in the batter... and ended up serving bowls of cupcake pieces! Am I missing something here?

Everything i have impute to on silicone bakeware said to season the bakeware first by spraying it with oil before the first use and then you should never have to spray oil on it again. I oil mine everytime though and havent had a problem if it sticking.
