The defeat bottle opener I've ever owned
Not that I've owned a lot, but this is by far, hands down the most bottle opener I have ever owned. It's simple, sturdy, inexpensive and works great.
Salutary Popper. Won't break bottles
The predicament with this style of Bottle Popper is that they break bottles at the lip. This one has a thinner 'blade' part so it gets under the cap better. Good by-product delivered as promised.
Well-proportioned idea with a few minor problems.
I like this bottle opener, it works very well and the vinyl coating on the finger is nice. Unfortunately It's not magnetic, I have several bottle openers that are almost exactly the same but without the vinyl coating that are magnetic. Magnets are how I keep track of one or two of them. I wanted to compensate for this my main bottle opener and keep it on hand with one of my magnets, but you need a hook to keep it anywhere but in a drawer. The vinyl coating does turn it a bit more comfortable if you're opening several bottles over a long period of time, but it tends to collect dirt (hairs and dust) so it might not be that compelling for someone in a professional setting. It's also rather expensive compared to others exactly like it without the vinyl coating. The other ones seem a bit heftier too.
If you're looking for something like this do a search for "BOT-8"... it's the same accurate thing without the vinyl for like 1/3 the price.

Over the weekend: John Common at Cassleman's Bar & Venue Westword (blog)
John Low-grade is too old for the slog of rock and roll. In this week's feature , he talked about giving it up before he met Jess DeNicola and started his newest commitment. She was the piece he needed, in music and, evidently, in life, and he found a way to do things his way. Which, as we learned Saturday night, means embracing his aging flood with seats and soft lighting. Music aside for a moment, it means acknowledging creative saying that isn't music by asking visual artists and filmmakers an opportunity to respond to his latest album and featuring that business at the release show. Common himself has left the door open for moving to other sorts of art someday.
It is important to note that I am not his objective market these days. So while I didn't so much care for the unique touches to this show, it was hard not to appreciate how effective John Communal & Blinding Flashes of Light are at creating an event. It's been a life yearn habit of mine. I'm going to have to re-count to make sure but I think I just hit 2000!!
As a bartender I recognize it is the cardinal sin to put one down on the bar so I make it a point to take it.
