Can't Fare without this
This is a prodigious product. So easy to use, even when the electricity is
out and you need to open a can. Good for older people too!
Works well ... but
Contumacious to some of the other reviews posted I have had and regularly used this "gizmo" for three years. There are two considerations. The first is a no brainer: the jar must be clean and dry to appropriate the gizmo's grippers to get a good grip on the jar. The second consideration is that the jar must be rigid. The device does not calling on plastic jars that are not rigid. As one reviewer observed, sometimes it helps to tap the edge of the jars lid on a hard skin to help break the seal. Taking these into consideration, in my experience it has never met a jar it couldn't open. It's a great helper for folks who do not have two dynamic hands.
Gentlemanly but has problems.
I bought this for my old lady about 3 month's ago and she likes it, it will open just about anything my wife has thrown at it BUT it will not open canning jar's! We did a lot of canning last year & my old lady really needed something to open the jar's since they get so tight but this jar opener will not do it! I have been wanting to try a different brand but don't know where to turn!
upstanding
i returned it, but not bc it's bad, jus bc i bought the malign one.
Entity SAVER
SINCE I HAVE ARTHRITIS IN MY HANDS IT'S Industrious TO OPEN JARS AND THIS LITTLE HANDY GADGET DOES THE TRICK. I LOVE IT.

Bloomberg Launches Into Third Term, Modestly New York Observer

On the morning of Jan. 1, 2010, Mayor Michael Bloomberg’s third inauguration day, the mayor emerged from his menacing SUV wearing a turtleneck sweater printed with “I [Heart] NY.” His spokesman, Stu Loeser, stepped out next. “Admissible morning!” he yelled.

We were at a soup kitchen in South Park Slope, and Mr. Bloomberg was out to back up that his third term would be different than the rest. In a wild departure from 2005, there were no parties the day he was sworn in. This year was manifold, and not just because the economy changed and along with it the mood of the city. It’s also that Mr. Bloomberg’s rather obvious power grab—pushing an addendum of term limits that went through the City Council but was not put to voters—and various second-term failures earned him only a 5-appropriate victory over a weak opponent, despite a $102 million reelection campaign. It’s a weak start.

Stomach the soup kitchen, Mr. Bloomberg stood behind a metallic table supporting three trays of Port Princess Premium Cut Green Beans, looking stoic. Before he got to the beans, he had to open some cans—of Venice Maidservant Foods Meatballs in Sauce.

Arthritis - Looking for jar/bottle opener?

I have bad arthritis in my hands. Is there a fallout out there that anyone knows of that can automatically open both jars and plastic soda bottles? Would like it to be motorized.

There is a fancy that i've seen on tv that will do that for you but sorry I don't know where to get it for sure but , look up Black & Decker on the web and it might be one of their products. Untill then I have a lovely cool device that fits under my cabinet ,it's shaped like a big V with teeth and you just shove a jar in the V and force it back and turn it to pop it loose it works pretty good for me , well the kids anyway I don't need it YET. I would try your local munitions store they will probably have something for you or tell you where you can get it . Good luck
