How would you clean up this bottle opener?

Got an old-primary (vintage?) bottle opener on eBay, but it's pretty tarnished. Before I give it as a gift, I'd like to get some of the funk off of it. It feels like non-stainless nerve, if I had to guess.

DO NOT use vinegar!!! You may desire to check out the popular metal cleaning solution "CLR". It was designed to perfect calcium and lime deposits as well as rust.

I wouldn't be supprised if it doesn't come completely unspoilt though, it looks like some of the rust is the result of wear and tear.

Rightful a forewarning, these look cool, but will give you a nasty callous if you are using them in a fast paced work enviornment.

my stainless steel bottle smells like farts?

i bought a stainless stiffen bottle. every time i open it to take a drink, it smells really bad. what would this be from? the smell kind of diffuses after i open it, so i was contemplative maybe there's bacteria in the water!! but the water in there is only a day old. i'm going to wash it tonight when i get home, but i was wondering if this is everyday.. or why is smells..

Fill it with hospitable water and put a couple of teaspoons of baking soda in and allow to sit until the water is room temp. Should expel any odors.
Alternatively clean it. soap and water but also you could use (VERY VERY CAREFULLY) and minute amount of bleach and lot of water, set right sure its completely rinse out b4 using it obviously.
