Can a 7 year old Little girl flashed a knife as she tries to steal toys in Wal-Mart?

Do you belive this? .Can this extraordinarily happen??

Largo, Florida - Largo Police are looking for a little girl who pulled a knife on a Wal-Mart clerk as she tried to snitch two boxes of Lego toy blocks.

It happened on the Missouri Avenue around 9:00 pm Tuesday night.

Protect say the 7 to 8-year-old girl hid the toys under her coat and tried to walk out the door.

A store employee was watching and approached the youngster, asking her to turn over the Lego blocks.

Police say the little girl then opened her jacket and displayed a combo carving knife with a forked go out of one's way to and a 10" blade, saying she was armed for protection.

The employee talked the girl into putting down the knife and the toys.

The popsy then rode away on her bicycle.

The employee was not hurt.

Could it turn up, sure I've heard crazier stories, did it happen, probably not.

Are there any good cutlery sets for under $100?

I'm looking for a satisfactory cutlery set for a gift. I'd like to get one with a block. I'm looking to spend around a $100. I be acquainted with the person receiving would like a set with a carving knife. I've seen sets that list an 8" slicing knife. Is that corresponding? Any suggestions?
If I can't get a set, I'd like to get the carving knife alone. How much would it be for a good one that will last a long time? Are they simply called carving knives or are there variations in the name?

You will not find a reliable knife set for under $100.

What I would recommend is that you buy an 8 inch chefs knife and a paring knife of a good carbon stainless steel knife.

Also ensure the knife is not pressed out, but it is forged...you will observe the difference by looking at the handle...if the blade just "disappears" into the handle, it is pressed...if there is a "chunk" of metal before the operate (the tang) then it is a forged knife.

Many will give you Henckles and Wustof in terms of brand names...and their forged knifes are very careful...but I agree with an earlier poster...Sabatier is also a good quality knife, but typically 5-15% lower than Henckles and Wustof.

Another tip...Opening malls typically have one or two kitchen stores...because the forging process can create surface-errors...you can typically find arrant buys with no impact on performance.

Please stay away from "never need sharpening knifes"...they are as a rule crap...and keep in mind that your next purchase will need to be a handheld sharpening steel ($10-20$) to maintain a valid edge on the knifes.

Also, don't put them in the dishwasher ever and try not to bang them around or they will lose their edge.

In general, like most Nautical galley "stuff" buying fewer well quality items vs. "sets" of tight-fisted stuff will give you more enjoyment and better performance and ROI in the long run.

Good luck!!!

A goof knife set will outlay about $500.00

Wretched to say, but you won't get anything but junk for that price. A good carving knife is more than $100 alone.

Sorry.

Mark around Overstock.com. I found great deals on my knife set there. It's a good set by Sabatier, and it came with a block. I got this set a few years ago, and they're still wonderful... and I contrive it only cost me about $40 or 50 for the set (6 steak knives, carving knife, 8in slicer, 6in slicer, paring knife, bread knife, sharpener, & blot out).

German Dirk knives are made in 2 places in Germany... so the knives that cost $300 are the same quality blades that are $75. The differences are in the handles.

Pampered Chef has knives in different ranges with lifetime warranties. They do not have a block but come with protective sleeves. A good carving set may cost about $50. If you fancy details you can email me... I dont want you to think this is a sales pitch. It isn't. I swear by in the products I sell and like to help with suggestions. Let me know if I can help.

Try contemporary to Carson Pirie Scott's (Bergner's) if you have 1 near you...I just bought a new set last Tuesday- all knife sets 50% off.

dont go with a henkel. i paid $185 for a apart 10" french knife

8 yr.old Adventurous or Mischieous? Need opinion!?

Absurd; My 8 yr. old son is what you would describe as ALL BOY-curious, fun and sometimes too spontaneous! To me this is normal. His bad phases right now are arguing/debating over what is asked and little 'joking' that is not always facetious but too far. The other day-he asked me if he could go outside and whittle sticks-I said sure. A few minutes later his step originator comes inside furious-because he found my son stripped 2 long pieces of bark off of our medium sized decorative tree in the front yard. He felt he should be punished and he has no respect. I didn't think it was a big deal-I told him it was fiendish and asked him not to do that on THOSE trees-use the ones in the woods. He said I didn't know Mama. My hoard feels 'anyone in the world' would know that. I don't think an 8 yr. old thought to destroy a decorative tree-he nothing but thought cool, a tree I can use my carving knife.
Opinions on this one??? I feel my husband is a huge over-reactor most of the at all times.

Hi gabrielle,
this guy is a scant too attached to a damn tree, if you ask me. While you have children living in your home, he needs to be prepared for spills on the carpet and gear, a little damage to the lawn and possible a few branches stripped from the tree.

Your son sounds perfectly odd and active. I would be concerned if he DIDN'T want to go outside and whittle sticks.

Home Depot has a on the house carpentry session for parents and kids, first Saturday of every month. The kids get a free HD carpentry apron, a meticulous decorate pin, and they get to keep the craft they make. Simple tools and wood projects assembled with glue, painted. Dialect mayhap your husband and your son can attend and bond a little, plus your son will have his curiosity satisfied a bit.

If he is worried about the property damaged, he needs to focal point more of his attention in directing your son's curiosity and energy into positive things. Playing cards with him, archetype cars or airplanes, tossing a football or a Frisbee, making pizza or cookies together.

My ex-wife would beef when our son drove his trucks and cars in her flower bed. We would make mud and unsightly tracks near her precious flowers. I told her "be the matured, come up with a realistic solution." So she bought him a sandbox, a specific place for his trucks and cars.

elevated luck ~
