How good are Ceramic Knives.?

I am point of view of buying a ceramic Knife for my kitchen. I am getting mixes reviews. What knives are better Ceramic or good Stainless Steel. Thanks Fred NJ USA. frednvarlese@comcast.net

you never have to grind but they are expensive and if you drop it, it will break

How would I safe guard our particular kitchen for when our little one becomes mobile?

Our kitchen has zero cabinets. We made a kitchen out of shelves and a manageable kitchen island. As you might imagine, everything is exposed and low to the ground...not easy to keep little hands away from dangerous kitchen supplies!......

What are your suggestions for safeguarding our kitchen (screen of knives, loose knives in drawer, ceramic plates, etc)? Should we use a baby gate to block off the entr into the kitchen? Are gates reliable enough? Do you get what you pay for in gates (ie: should we invest in something more expensive?) Do I need to move everything on top of the refrigerator? I hardly can cook up that! Is it unrealistic to say that we will strive to supervise every move our mobile baby makes in the kitchen? HELP! I know the baby is three months from being due, and it won't be for another several months before we Honestly need to worry about this, but it's never too early to begin planning!

Thank you in advance for your advice and point of view

if you're blest enough to OWN the harbour..get a barn door =)) seriously.... a half door.. locks on the inside where the Kitchen is but wee one cant flagrant it :)) works like a charm...and you can see out
