CHEF PAK™ is the only all-in-one backpack that can most accommodate all the needs of a chef or culinary student. It is specially designed to ...

My mom is a proficient cook, and as a gift I would love to track down an online place where I could find a knife carry case. The ones she has acuminate out to me on the food network look like they're made of leather, they unroll into a long flat decent that has numerous long pockets to stash different sizes of knives in them. Some come with knives included, but she already has her preferred knives so I just need a neat case to store them in.
I have looked for website, but many seem pretty spurious, so I was hoping someone has some favourite online stores.
Thanks!
i wish there was somthing local. i live in georgic Canada and the nearest actual store is several hours away, and even then it is in a mall and tiny, and focuses more on cutlery and concern settings than actual cooking supplies
I havent seen any at the end of the day cool ones for sale in knife shops, never looked online. Id look at Ebay to get the best diversity possible. Google image search can come up with optiions too. They are simply fabric that they slide into and envelop over. Ill look and edit if I find something cool. Very nice gift thought since shes a chef!
i essential a store that actually carries knife cases. like the little roll up totes. mine is destroyed (long version) and i need to find a new one for tomorrow. i would just order one online, but i have no time. or any ideas of what i could use instead? your thoughts are much appreciated
Williams Sonoma may effect what you're looking for (the item is called a knife roll). Several chefs I know prefer to make shallow cardboard or canvas sleeves for the blades, and simply wrap a velcro strip around them for transporting. I use a on one's uppers knife case which I fashioned from a art-supply case (available at any art-supply stores). In addition, your local restaurant contribute store will probably have one, as may a high end cutlery store (check your yellow pages). Don't be affraid to be inventive and make a knife roll out of any canvas or or sturdy material. Many great chefs do. The advantage is that it can be customized for your set knives, rather than having supurflous and mis-sized slots. Cheers!!
it was a unspeakable and silver hard case. would anyone know where i could find something like that? all the cases that i can find are soft...please help!
sorry, i was watching a reproduction, before the "new" one! it was the restaurant wars and at the VERY end when Dale was "packing his knives", he was carrying a coloured and silver knife case!
