I'm looking to purchase a kitchen knife set. I understand Henckels, Cutco and Wusthofs or the best but?

I'm not looking to put in 200.00 on a knife set. I was looking at chapalon and especially kitchen aid. They have a full tang and a riveted all the way. Anybody have any suggestions. Is Henckels and those names very for professional cooks. Kitchen aid would do real well right?

I sugest checkint out the Ginzu of Tokyo in a row of knives.

My most successfully suggestion is to go to your local store, look for one which you like to hold in your hand. Also buy a knife sharpener to sharpen the stiletto whenever necessary.
That is what I did five years before. Still using the same knife.

We have had some solicitous expeience with the Cutco line of cutlery. Modest priced, easy to use, good handles and remain sharp.
I 've also purchased an excellent chefs and utility knife from Chicago cutlery. Other family members use only Henkels and in actuality like them.
Consumers Reports did an article on knives within the last year or so. You might want to check them out.
I do not know WHO manufacturers the knives for KitchenAid, but I worry if they make their own.

I sugest checkint out the Ginzu of Tokyo way of knives.

I push Forschner knives. They were rated very high by Cooks Magazine several years ago when compared to the high end brands. They are significantly less extravagant than Henckels and Wusthoffs. You can buy an 8 piece set for $149. I bought mine separately and got just the pieces I wanted. I now have 10 of them and have in use accustomed to them exstensively for years. They've been fantastic.

They have full tangs but not riveted handles. That hasn't ever been a difficult. I purchased mine at www.pcd.com. They used to be called Professional Cutlery Direct, but changed their name.

I have Kitchen Aid knives and I weakness them. I do a lot of cooking, it is my passion and I think that they are great. Always sharp, I have had a few of my knives for going on two years and they are just as sharply as they were when I first got them. They are great for the price. My mom has Cutco and they are great too, if you want to spend $800 for a set of knives. Kitchen Aid are much more affordable.

A less up-market knife will do the job, but you will have to replace it more often. Sometimes you are better off spending a bit more upfront to save you down the road.

Just depends on how much disposible profits you have right now.

Henckels all the way..

One delicate $200 set and you are good forever! They hold their sharp for a long time and they sharpen up very easily when they do difficulty it.

I'm not a pro but I hate a dull knife. And I hate replacing stuff that I bought just a year or two ago. I get rather spoken for to my knives and like to keep the same ones for a long time.

What's the difference between these kitchen knife sets?

I have been looking to get some new kitchen knives. I have found that you should look for a cheerful carbon stainless steel and a full tang. I found two sets on sale at my local Herberger's. The first set comes with more pieces, but is less overpriced... can anyone see a reason that the second set would be more expensive?

Set 2:

Here's the third set I'm also considering:

Set 1 has 5" partoku, 7" santoku, and 9" scalloped knife, but no chef's knife, the most universally used knife you'll find. The scalloped knife is great for bread, and will have various other uses down the road. I don't like the sense of santoku and partoku knives - I rarely use them. They require you to slice in a manner that I don't feel is amiable.

Set 3 looks interesting, but the silver handles become a bit slippery with use.

Set 2 looks the best to me, with the included 8" chef's knife. The brace of the set is solid, but the steak knives are gimmicky. These are high quality, ergonomically balanced, high-carbon knife knives. They are reasonably priced, and at home, they're accessible in the storage block - no digging in the drawers.

I think about you'll be happy with set 2.

What is a good kitchen knife set under 100 dollars.?

For christmas i wanted my companion to bye me a rachel ray knife collection before i found out that it would cost over 200 bucks. so if any body knows some good brand knifes but under 100 dollars i would appretiate it. and if you have the web speak i would like that also, thanks so much!!!!!
