Looking for Halloween

The period to start the hunt for Halloween goodies has begun. Going to flea markets, antique shows and yard sales, looking for the set right rusty piece or the old piece of wood with worm holes and interesting knots, anything odd that strikes my unrealistic. These are the things we look for to build our Haunted Houses and the hunt begins early in the year. We had no end result at all last year, my Mom became ill and needed all off our attention. She passed away in August, I miss her terribly. She was one of my biggest supporters, and she red a big hole in my heart when she died. But we are picking up the pieces of our lives and going on as we must.
So Dan is reorganizing his wood snitch on, taking inventory and drawing up ideas and I am going through my studio and trying to clean up enough to get around the work inventory. And I know Mom is smiling down on us as we work. Love you and miss you MOM.

This is a prop I came up with and inured to on Halloween night 2007. This prop is great. Enjoy it!

Bathtub transmissions from the Google eye Sydney Morning Herald

In a rare toast of the town Google Street View sighting, the lead singer of psychedelic American rock league together The Flaming Lips has been snapped sitting outside in a bathtub by Google's all-seeing eye.

It comes after reports in Demonstration last year of Oasis frontman Liam Gallagher being photographed by Google's camera-equipped cars while enjoying a beer face a pub in Camden, north London.

The band's eccentric frontman Wayne Coyne, 49, can be seen in his proficient in town of Oklahoma City lounging beneath a crude hand-painted red and yellow goad that reads "Blob in the bath". The image can be accessed by anyone on Google Maps.

The discovery was made by a member of the documented Flaming Lips forum, who verified the find by providing links to videos and pictures on the band's MySpace verso, which features the same bath.

Apparently the outdoor bath was an art experiment created by Coyne for Halloween a few years ago.

The bath was configured to smoulder like a cauldron and blood appears to be splattered across the scene.

how can i create fog to come out of my cauldron for halloween?

im throwing a Lilliputian halloween party for my kids and their friends this weekend. i cant afford a $60 cauldron with fancy gadgets, how can i make my own film to come out of my cauldron?

dry ice

I don't recollect the exact proportions and such, but I believe you put a chunk of dry ice in with a little water. The dry ice will actually turn directly from pure (frozen) to gas (fog) at room temperature - and you have to be very careful handling it in order to avoid burning yourself (freezing, indeed) - but dry ice is how that kind of fog is usually created.

dry ice

Dry ice and copiously.

Use dry ice. Have a consequential one.

What they use is "dry ice". I'm not steadfast where to get it or what it costs. I do know you have to be really careful with it since it's colder than regular ice and will burn your hands if you touch it with exposed skin.

put dry ice in it (dry ice is frozen carbon dioxide and needs to be much colder than be inconsistent to melt). when it melts, it turns back to gas, making the "steam". you can even put it in punch and still drink (it will help keep it ague).
BE CAREFUL not to touch the dry ice with your bare hands because it is cold enough to burn you

Halloween! What is the best way to do a fog cauldron?

I would like to do a fog cauldron this year for halloween, and I identify I need dry ice and hot water.
The warmer the water the more fog that comes out I know if I put hot water and a chunk of ice it would be about 15 mins. then i would take out some bedew dilute about a pitcher...add more hot water and another chunk of dry ice.

Anywho I was wondering...
1> is that correct
2>what is the best thing to hold the drench and ice in?
3>a plastic black cauldren?

4>Have you ever done this? what do you recommend?

Halloween Prop Help: Smoking Cauldron Candy Bowl?

I've searched the net far and off the target and haven't come up with anything satisfactory.

I want the ToTs to reach into a smoky cauldron of candy. However, all cauldrons that aggregate b regain with smoking machines already included are too small.

I want to have a cauldron wide and deep enough to have a smoking mechanism (or dry ice) at the bottom, and a colander/sieve filled with sweetmeats hanging from the lip.

Using a fog machine would require fog juice, and I don't want to expose the kids and bon-bons to that.

Using dry ice would be ideal, but most cauldrons are made of cheapy plastic that i'm sure would freeze and crumble with the distant cold that dry ice delivers. Unless I kept the dry ice in a separate bowl at the bottom of the cauldron? Still, what can I use that won't fall apart or confuse?

How can I achieve this prop while protecting the prop itself, the candy, the children, and myself?

Smoke AND lights would be preferable, but if it's too risky then I can do without.
P.S. I will be posting this in the Halloween section too,

P.S.S. I am not aproposed in building this prop from the bottom up. Any suggestions are welcome. I have access to lots of tools and I am certainly handy, creative, and determined.
I would want to have the candy high enough not to freeze the candy or endanger the children of frost sting.
If dry ice is too dangerous, what alternative method do you suggest. Or if dry ice could be used, how could it be done safely. i.e. no frost bite and burn.
Oooh, dutch oven. That's a noble idea Chris. I was thinking, I could cut out the bottom of my cauldron, and nestle it on top. I could have one of those expandable veggie basket steamer things on the lip of the cauldron and put the bon-bons on top of that. What to you guys think? Will the smoke actually reach the top?

I see there will be a lot of trial and error here..

Commandeer a "dutch oven", as it is cast iron and will be able to withstand extreme coldness. If you plan on using it for anything else later on, you will still want a barrier between the dry ice/water and pot.

You will also want to separate the candy and children's hands from the dry ice/distilled water mixture as touching dry ice can "burn" you. You can use either chicken wire or a thin plywood sheet with holes to let the gas outflow and keep the candy/fingers from getting too close to the dry ice.

Dutch ovens also come in many sizes, and usually with a worthy heavy lid, so if you want to "prime" it before kids begin to show up, you can put the lid on to trap the gases prearranged!
