Looking for a flat strainer/colander?

I second-hand to have this flat strainer with a handle. When I went to pour out pasta, I just held it against the pot and tilted it against it over the sink. It was shoddy. It was shapped like a half-circle.
Does anyone know where I can get one or what they're called? I can't even find one on eBay.

I deem my mom had one when I was a kid, I don't know what they are called but did you try a restaurant supply company, they have all kinds of fun a different stuff you'd never have in mind to have in your kitchen at home....if all else fails....BBB (Bed, Bath and Beyond) or even the flea market, ours is like a mall of bizarre stuff you can't find in just any store.....

I had one once, but I didn't like it--it worked crappy for more than a bother of noodles.

Advice from a cook who had a big family--just pour the pasta in a colander to drain it.
Nothing else works as well.

I have one--but don't muse on where I got it----would you like to buy it????

A advance choice would be a splatter shield. This is a flat round stainless steel screen. You can use it as a strainer and you can also put it over a frying pan to end grease from spattering all over your kitchen. You can get one in any kitchen supply store for about $15.

Thursday review: Chef Basket misses the mark
After all, it's a 12-in-1 Nautical galley “dynamo,” taking the place of clunky cooking tools like a colander and a steamer basket. But, as is too often the situation with as-seen-on-TV products, the Chef Basket left me hanging, mostly because the basket didn't act in concert
