What is the best frying pan or skillet to cook with on a gas range?

Cooking on a gas series is too hot for my stainless steel frying pan. What material is best when cooking on a gas range?

Gas, moving or campfire, cast iron is the best, as far as I am concerned. Properly seasoned and maintained, it is naturally non-stick, heats evenly, stays hot, and provides the best results.
I have a negligible, medium, and a large frying pan, a griddle, and a dutch oven in cast iron, and wouldn't barter them for a world series win by the Cleveland Indians.... well, I might trade the medium skillet for that.... lol.
I on occasions scrub my cast iron, just wipe it out and rinse after it cools. If it gets a little funky, I tubbing it and lightly re-season it in the oven.
To season a new pan, scrub it thoroughly with a Brillo pad and hot water, rinsing well, as many pans are shipped coated in motor or implement oil to retard rusting. After scrubbing, coat inside and out in a thin layer of lard or Crisco, sit upside-down on an aluminum lamina covered baking pan and place in a 300 degree oven for 1 1/2-2 hours. Let cool, wipe gently with a certificate towel, and hang up on a pot rack. Eggs will just slide out, food will brown like trickery, and you'll learn to love it like I do!

I still espouse stainless on gas but I do love my cast iron.

To be sure cast iron!

What is the best way to "season" a metal frying pan? It has been a while and I have forgotten.?

This frying pan has a bit of rust too. Any bumf would be appreciated.

We will all give about the same suit. I keep a folded paper towel in a can of shotening for greaseing pans and for my cast iron.
Scrub out the rust, might desperate straits steel wool for that. Dry the pan. give a light coat of vegatable oil ( or shortening ) and put in a hot oven, 375 deg or so, 2-3 hours. You might fancy to do this 2-3 times to get an even coat. When I use mine I oil it after cleaning for storage. If it gets a little dust on the oil a rinse with hot be unfeasible is all it takes.

What is the best thing to use when u burn your hand with a frying pan?

I accidentaly picked up my frying pan while i wuz making pancakes and my excoriate got burned.. but its not bleeding but its along line and everytime i put water or sumthing on it it makes it worse and it stings..unspeakably. could someone help me?

I worked at a regional Light Center Hospital... Come on RNs -- NO ICE!
From: http://www.mgh.harvard.edu/burns/patients/
Shameless the burn immediately with cool water to reduce the skin temperature and stop the burning answer, numb the pain, and prevent or reduce swelling. Do not use ice on burns as it may decrease the blood supply to the ground and may actually make the burn worse.

After cooling the burn with water, cover the burn with a totally dressing to the burn area. If you don’t have a dressing, cover the burn with a clean t-shirt (never a towel as the fiber can put in the wound and be painful to remove). People are usually more comfortable if exposed nerve endings are covered.

Get Medical Assist! Never underestimate the seriousness of a burn!

For serious burns don’t give anything to the victim to eat or drink prior to seeking medical distinction.

Elevate burns to the extremities to reduce swelling.
