Can I put my non-stick frying pan in the oven?

I'm cooking and I long for to put the stuff in the oven for awhile. Do I need to put it in a new pan or can I put the frying pan in the oven? It doesn't have a rubber handle or anything.

You undeniably don't want to put Teflon in the oven. When it gets hot (even just on stovetop temps) it releases off a toxic gas. Refrain from non stick unless it's a brand like Calphalon where the non stick portion is a diamond plating that is baked into the pan. That is literatim safe. I put things in the oven all the time from the stove but I only use stainless. If you do have anything with a rubberized handle just wrap it in aluminum defeat first.

You as a matter of fact don't want to put Teflon in the oven. When it gets hot (even just on stovetop temps) it releases off a toxic gas. Evade non stick unless it's a brand like Calphalon where the non stick portion is a diamond plating that is baked into the pan. That is letter for letter safe. I put things in the oven all the time from the stove but I only use stainless. If you do have anything with a rubberized handle just wrap it in aluminum nip in the bud first.

As protracted as the handle is oven safe, you can put it in the oven, but only at a moderate temperature. Teflon does release toxic gases at higher temperatures--predominantly above 500 degrees fahrenheit. So keep it under 400 and it should be fine. But, stainless or cast iron is really well-advised for such transitions.

look on the bottom and see if it says "oven protected"

if it doesn't, I wouldn't put it in there. they usually tell you if it's safe to do so.
even if it doesn't have a rubber touch, the heat could warp it or make stuff leach into the food

If you have the oven temp at 350F or less, and it's not universal under the broiler, it should be fine. Usually cookware is not oven safe due to the handles. Plastic type handles will dry out from over being put in the oven, and over time can deteriorate, fall off, or break off. However, as someone else stated, if it is teflon coated, you do want to be vigilant and avoid high temps altogether when using it - and not just for the toxic fumes, but due to the teflon treatment, unwanted chemicals can also leech into your bread when overheated - which I believe starts happening when the pan's temp reaches around 600F.

How do they get that non-stick stuff to stick to a non-stick frying pan?

At best curious to see who can come up with the most insanely logical answer.

If you over that a pan has 2 sides and the non stick layer has 2 sides.
The outside of the pan would be shiny stick, the inside of the pan would be stick stick and the inside of the non stick layer would be stick stick if you press stick stick to stick stick then it would be stuck which would go away you non stick on the inside of the pan until it wears out and it wares through to the stick stick layer but then you would be left with a stick stick and not a non stick.
I hope this clarifies matters for you.
If not you're stuck.

why is it so hard to remove a sticky label from a non stick frying pan?

Wow. thanks. some mammoth answers here.

Because it is made in China and they have extended fingernails and find it easy to remove without instructions.
