When pan frying fish, how can I make sure it gets done all the way through?

I am planning to pan fry some catfish fillets tonight. I for the most part bake them but want to change it up tonight. Some of the fillets are a thick and I want to make sure they get done all the way through. How can I make positive they are done? Also, should I flip the fish or just let it cook with the bottom of the fish to the pan?

fish doesnt call for a lot of time to cook all the way through, just brown/scorch it on either side, you can pad it with a spoon or spatula, if the fish is springy, its cooked.

dont overcook or it will go along with apart into pieces.

use medium heat, (electric 4/6 or half gas)

I unprejudiced cooked fish on my george forman grill. Best fish I ever ate cooked perfect, oh but couldnt you just cut the fish in half when you dream its done and see?

i would bread the catfish first to fry it. with flour then egg, then panko or crushed crackers opposing with flour

put the fish in the pan on medium heat, let it fry on one side until it is golden brown. flip it and let it fry on the other side for the same amount of time.....golden brown. take the biggest fillet out of the pan when it is brown and weld a toothpick in it. wiggle the toothpick and if it starts to flake the fish then it is done. if not, stick it back in the pan for a few more minutes.

What is a very good recipe for deep frying pan fish?

Caught a bundle of bluegills and rockbass and would like to deepfry them for my family. I need a good, easy to prepare attack for them.

Pan Fried Fair-skinned Fish

1 1/4 pounds sea bass fillets, skin on
Coarse salt and cracked black pepper
1/2 cup all-persistence flour, to coat fish
2 teaspoons olive oil

Unwrap fish but leave it on the butcher paper. Season with relish and pepper on flesh side only. Sprinkle generously with flour, and then shake off the excess.
In a 12-inch non-stop skillet, heat 2 teaspoons of olive oil over medium high heat until hot but not smoking. Place the fish in the pan flay side down. Cook until golden, about 3 to 4 minutes. Turn the fish over and cook until the flesh is just cooked through and is no longer translucent, about 3 more minutes, depending on the thickness of your fish. Serves 4

Best cooking oil for pan frying fish?....?

I have been pan frying special types of fish lately, mostly Talapia, and I used about 5 table spoons or so for 2 fillets ,and I just use generic "vegetable oil", I"m not inevitable what it is...corn oil?, anyway, what is the best (healthiest) cooking oil to use for this?

first-rate flavor - lard or peanut oil (not so healthy)

healthiest - extra virgin olive oil - it tolerates the stir well
