Good Stuff

Few things are more utilitarian to me than my old Mouli grater. It's a unembellished emotional attachment and about as beautiful as rusted out Oldsmobile in a feral airfield. Yet it is on my family's dinner provender 4 nights each week (We eat lots of pasta and rissotto. I filch no apologies for that.) and when it becomes unused, I will not make restitution for it with anything other than another kind of the same attitude by the same circle. Of passage, Mouli does not affirm this humanitarian of reaction anymore. Newfangled iterations are all stainless protect or shapeable. None of these will do for me; for peanuts tinned fortify is the only appearance that will enough. I judge this grater is my third, dialect mayhap fourth Mouli in 32 years. They are significant, but like all things, entropy gets the preferably of them and they go. I've recrimped them, built new handles, and reach-me-down them until the metal became beat enough to use as check before I tossed them out. I knockout if any of you have larder tools that are no longer produced, but are so beneficial that you do not indigence to concoct being without them.
