What is the best cheese grater you have used or seen (not a finger or nail grater) and one that is easy clean.

I use the customary one that has different blades on four sides but always end up grating myself with it.

I have also tried a mouli type but that doesn't grate very well and is burdensome to clean.

I have tried a mandolin type but that doesnt grate, it only slices and chips and doesn't do the last half centimeter.

I also have a comestibles processor but that is a pig to clean and doesn't grate the last bit either.

Is there any new fangled, or old fashioned one you could recommend please.

The master one I have found is from Pampered Chef and it is easy to just stick it in the dish washer and wash it with the dishes. It comes out purified. They look like the ones they use at the Olive Garden but unless the Olive Garden uses the Pampered Chef they are not using the most successfully one.

I also have every kind available on the market. I bought everyone until I found this one and I will not be without this one ever again.

Stevie Cudgel one's brains had 1 for Christmas, he said it was the best book he'd ever read!

They're all the same babe... I'd without a doubt give up the search now. Sorry! x

I fervour my microplane. It is easy to clean just make sure you go with the blades not against them.

we have one you put the chese in an disobediently the handle an there you go it is great

Try Pampered Chef.com...they have an stunning handheld ont that doesnt kill your knuckles.

I concede with NCMOMMAAC microplane graters are great.

they work just like a normal grater but all the 'blades'are sharpened like a pierce so you need very little pressure on them to grate.

ive had one years and im yet to grate a finger or a nail (touch wood)

Can anyone share any tips for using a kitchen mandolin?

I got one from Pampered Chef last year, and have only toughened the cheese grater part. What else should I be using it for? I'm sure it's really handy... I just need to get into the habit of using it more. What do you use yours for?
How do you iota lettuce or cabbage? I have a flat blade, a ripple blade, a cheese shredder blade... and one other one that I can't about. Which blade, how do you do it? Thanks~

Thinly slice fruits or vegetables like carrots, potatoes, apples, etc.
Throw away lettuce or cabbage.
About anything you would try to slice very evenly and very thinly with a sharp knife except very soft items like very fit tomatoes.

Where can I find a cheap mandolin(e) slicer?

I hope for to make a carrot salad but all the mandoline slicers are really expensive. I don't know if a grater would work objective as well. Where can I find a cheap one?

I don't distinguish if you have a Benix where you live but they had them for $8.99. You can definately grate carrots too

mandolin grater - News

Trolling the aisles at a restaurant supply store
Grater: My antique Mouli grates parmesan beautifully, but you can pick up a flat grater for a few dollars, or the larger microplane grater for $10 to $12 and it's weighty for lemon zest or nutmeg. • Cooking trays: In aluminum, these are good for cooking

Note: to scrape an onion use a mandolin or a box grater. Cut the onion into quarters first for easy handling. The skinny ribbons make all the difference in this soup! In a corpulent soup pot, place browned turkey, beef and onions. Add tomato puree, beans,
