baking tri tip

how do you disassemble the farberware rotary cheese grater?

I advised of the crank comes off so that the grater part came come out, but what is the trick? It won't pull off.

If its the model I think it is, you flip the top part of the handle up and back, then flip the top half of the cheese holder away from the handle, then the grater part should hoodwink out, maybe with a bit of force if there's cheese caught in it.

If its the kidney I think it is, you flip the top part of the handle up and back, then flip the top half of the cheese holder away from the handle, then the grater part should support out, maybe with a bit of force if there's cheese caught in it.

I'd like to ask what brand of rotary cheese grater would you recommend?

Am undecided with using the stainless knife ones with the regular plastic ones. Although good brands made in plastic am unsure whether they would last long. Also am radical-handed but would prefer a brand that can be use by left and right hand.

I regard my Zyliss. It's plastic, but sturdy enough I swear I could shred a rock.

Help me find those CHEESE GRATERS from about 20 years ago?

My parents had this cheese grater that was ALL Stainless Imitate, suction mount, and various SS drums that cut the cheese in a rotary fashion. It was probably manufactured in the 70's or early 80's and for the life story of me I can't find one to buy like it. Let me know where i can find one.

Try looking at an antiquated mall or store in your area. You'd be surprised what types of kitchen items are collected and you might stubble across the grater you are looking for. I have recaptured many items I call to mind from my Grandmother's kitchen just by taking a day and going through an antique mall. It might be worth the trip.
