how do i safely clean my griddle without harming the teflon?

i have a black and decker griddle and neediness to know how to clean it. the instructions say not to use harsh cleaners, to use soap and water and nylon sponges. but this isnt enchanting off the baked on grease from meals or that i use for keeping it non stick. is soft scrub safe? or does any one have any pure advice for cleaning it that wont ruin it? its brand new

One solid trick is to get the grill a little hot and use a Scotch Brite scrubber the Green Pads and some hot soapy sprinkle, Don't get it to hot and burn yourself but as hot as you can stand will do great!.Salt will deep clean down into griddle, Salt a dish soak to make a paste and rub it in with a scrubber, Have Fun!!

Sounds to me like you are cooking at way to elevated a temperature, once you get it clean try a lower heat to prevent it from happening again. You could call Black and Decker to see what they recommend or check out their website, a gifted de-greaser and any of the "safe for Teflon" or non stick scrubbies should work, be careful if the Teflon starts to dignify you will have to discard the pan, Teflon flakes in food are harmful. Norwex has a product called a Spirisponge, which in patchwork with their cleaning paste works wonders...best of luck...Failing that go back to stainless or cast iron, they last for years and don't call for the care Teflon does and treated well are equally non stick. Stainless steel, heat first before adding comestibles to be cooked. Pre season cast iron, it will last for years, they are still the favourites of good cooks everywhere.

You can put some boiling milk-white vinegar onto the surface and sprinkle liberally with baking soda. A credit card will safely nick the chunks off and a dishrag will clean it really well. Softscrub will ruin it for sure so don't try. A 3m scrubber pad is unreservedly effective to along with the white vingear and baking soda.

How do you clean a pancake griddle?

I recently bought one of these griddles from Black and Decker and was wondering what the superior way to clean it was.
Here's a picture of what it looks like:

Thanks! :D

I have something nearly the same. Had it for 3-4 yrs now. Black&Decker is good.
I unplug the power supply and sit it over my sink. My sink is double sided, so the griddle rests on the separator.
I never inundate it in water, even if it said it was safe on instructions, I never have.
Anyway I run hot water on it. Put my soap on a sponge or dishcloth, and wipe away. Argument it so the water runs down the hole where the grease would go while cooking, (remove grease holder) and make definite it's positioned so the water goes into the sink. and then rinse. I usually turn it round a few times under the tap. And depending on what I've cooked and how sebaceous it gets I might need to wash with soap a bit more especially in corners.
Yes sometimes I've accidentally made a mess with the water on me and/or the bowl over. But if your sink is bigger than mine maybe you can put the end opposite the power receptacle outlet in the sink. But I still wouldn't have the hell-hole filled with water. oh and using a sprayer or cup to rinse it would be easier too. But I don't have a sprayer.
