Once you get worn to it....
You have to grease this a few more times before you get the non-fixed effect, and try it on a lower heat first and work your way up, but once you get the hang of it, it's great. Try Earth Balance margarine to grease it - coats advance than oil.
Just right griddle
I in the past had an electric griddle which pales in comparison to this cast iron one. I primarily use it on my gas stovetop and it's so easy to cook with and cleaning is honest.

Superb griddle!
The Apartment Logic Pro 20-by-10-7/16-inch cast iron grill/griddle is all that I hoped for--it fits on two burners of my rather old gas stove, arrived well tempered, and heats evenly. I do recommend purchasing the weight for grilling bacon. I expect this griddle will be Euphemistic pre-owned by my great grandchildren, with proper cleaning and care. A top quality product, made in the USA.
Matchless Product
As I expected from Wedge Logic, this product is great. It came in a timely manner, and my husband loved it. He wanted one for Christmas, and has been using it every week ever since. We have done everything from omlettes to bacon to burgers. It is preseasoned, so there was very teeny need to condition it before use. Like all cast iron, it only gets better with age, and we can tell that it is doing so with each use. Great product, exceptional price. Can't beat it.

Conquer griddle out there!
I've had this griddle for completion to three years now and we use it all the time. We absolutely love Lodge products. We are cast iron cooks, no doubt! This griddle is habituated to multiple times per week. We use this grill/griddle for veggie kabobs, steaks, hamburgers, fish, bacon, eggs - you name it, we cook it on this grill.
We animate in a condo with very little outdoor space, so this grill really comes in handy.
Yes, it's heavy - it's cast iron. Cleaning is unreservedly simple (I have an extremely tiny kitchen, and I can manage this in a normal sink) - Use extremely hot shower (never soap) and a steel sponge - it may take some scrubbing - especially in the grill divets, but it cleans beautifully.
To re-mature cast iron, rub some veg oil all over it, place on rack in the oven at 400 degrees - place a pan on the rack beneathe it to catch any oil drippings, and bake the cast iron for a few hours until it gets a smashing shiny black coating. I re-season all of my cast iron probably more than necessary, but it helps retain it's non-stick capabilities.

This is suitable for how I cook, and fits my Weber Gensis Gold C
I amity Weber.. Their customer service is absolutely fabulous. The inside cover of my Weber Genesis Gold C was rusting, and they fitting sent a new cover, free of charge!! That is AWESOME!
So back to this item. The number one thing I cook on my grill are steaks. What I regularly do is I put a cast iron pan on my grill, crank all the burners up on high (600+ degrees). I season my steaks (kosher common and pepper), and leave it out for 30 or so minutes). Two minutes on each side in the cast iron pan, and then move it to the grates for the remainder.. I got weary of of dealing with that pan, and just wanted something that stays in the grill. This fits my grill perfectly. You have to season it initially, but its been dedicated! Everything I have hoped for! :)

This griddle is wonderful. It features a unobstructed side for pancakes which works well and a ribbed side for bacon. I am very pleased with this griddle. Since it is cast iron it takes a little longer to torridity up but once it does, it's great. Also, it is easy to clean.
Should have got one earlier
After following the elementary instructions to "season" the griddle I have made some of the tastiest vegetables, sausage, eggs, bacons, pancakes, pizzas and more. The griddle concept adds a bit of especially work to clean up because you CAN'T just leave it on your grill...but people have raved about what I've put together. Try buying the book "Serious Barbeque" for some famed recipes that need a griddle. YUMMY!
Nothing happier for your Weber.
This griddle fits the Mellifluent B exactly and is heavy cast iron. Takes a bit to heat up, but when it does, keep an eye on it as it is hot! Best to keep the rear burner on low so you can have a cooler zone to move foods to.
Return Your Gas Grill More Versatile
I use this on a Top Gold 6 burner grill. With the side burner, the regular section of the grill, and this griddle I can cook almost anything skin. Cast iron gets hot and retains the heat. I was considering Mario Batali's piastra, but this has a larger cooking bailiwick and I think will be more durable. Too bad it didn't come seasoned.

Recipe Redux: Heavenly Hots, 1987 New York Times
14.01.10
Six years ago, when I began drudgery on a cookbook of New York Times recipes, several readers wrote in about heavenly hots. There was no question: I had to try a approach with that name.
Although heavenly hots sound like a late-night cable offering, they’re nothing more salacious than pancakes. Once you correct them, you’ll understand the name. They are so feathery, creamy, tangy — so heavenly — that you may find yourself unable to let them purposeful off before devouring them.
Heavenly hots clarify what’s wrong with other pancakes, namely that most of them are god-awful: doughy, depressing thuds in our bellies. You always think they’re a great idea until about 10 minutes after you eat them.
What makes the hots so superb is that they ignore all the classic ratios of flour to sugar to eggs (sorry, Michael Ruhlman!). They’re made with low-gluten bar flour and just enough of it to lash the batter of sour cream, sugar and salt into fragile cakes.

How can I season a cast iron griddle on a gas crepe maker?
Sep 02, 2008 by efsccam | Posted in Cooking & Recipes
I've comprehend about putting cast iron pots, pans etc in the oven to season them, but how do I season the cast iron griddle plates on a gas crepe maker?
My Number101 article on the basics of making omelettes has a section on seasoning omelette pans (which also works for a crepe pan or absolutely any other function).

How to best season the surface of a new cast iron griddle?
Aug 12, 2006 by makyoshigo | Posted in Cooking & Recipes
When you cook on a "new, casy iron" cooking pan, grill or griddle, etc. the paraphernalia cooked sticks on the surface very easily. I heard somewhere the sticking may be avoided or reduced by "spice" the cast iron surface. I'd like to know what is the best way to do this.
transform your oven up to 350
take some crisco liberally apply it to the cast iron you can also use vegetable oil
stick in oven let bake for an hour or so
permit to cool wipe off any extra crisco
Never use soap and water to clean it with
whats going on is that cast iron has all these scant pores in it. seasoning fills up those pores with oil .
