New Appliance: How can I get the double griddle to work on our induction cooktop?

I bought a dead ringer griddle that says it is compatible with an induction cookop. I have tried placing it over every burner, one and two at a time. I cannot get it to work.
I am out of ideas.
Any succour?

Xplain the new griddle more, is it supposititious to get hot from the cooktop,etc??

Question about GFI with Thermador cooktop?

I have had a puzzle with my Thermador cooktop, specifically the griddle. When it heats up the GFI circuit breaker pops and only resets when it is cooled down. We had an appliance guy progress out and look at it and he said the unit is fine but we should not have it plugged into a GFI outlet. Does this make sense?

Morris is mark on this. Appliances have their own built in safety mechanisms and as such are not plugged into GFCI style receptacles. Its too bad the service tech didn't unfold to you the reason. In particular the appliance should have its own dedicated circuit (in the perfect world) as the amp draw can vary with use. Variety the receptacle if possible or run a dedicated circuit if it is prudent to do so. Hope that helps
