presto grill / spar with 'n drain big griddle
I purchased this grill because it was the largest that I could find. Which with 6 people in the household that is what I needed. The only maladjusted I find with it is the grease tray tilts slightly so you have to keep an eye on it or it will spill out over the top.
Presto griddle
This was surely what I wanted. It works great and it is what it was advertised to be.
Unforgivable Griddle
I am very thrilled with this griddle. It heats very evenly and has a very large cooking surface. Our family uses it most for cooking pancakes. They all cook evenly, no make a difference where on the griddle they are. The surface is also easy to clean.
Most rockin' sang-froid thing in the universe.
This grill is immense! We can cook like 12 grilled sandwiches in 5 minutes. How did we ever live before?
BIG!!!!
This griddle is Mammoth!!! Received it 4 days ago and already used it twice. I was able to cook 9 decent sized pancakes simultaeously. The next day I cooked an express pound of bacon and it drained pretty well.
The heating element has edge to edge coverage with only a three of hot spots (a couple of dark lines on the pancakes) I haven't checked the actualy surface temperature with my meter but the temperature dial seems to be pulchritudinous accurate.
I'd have to give this one two thumbs up, it's got a good beat and I can dance to it!!

Advantage price, nice product.
I bought this griddle for pancakes and it works well-known. Good, even temperature on entire cooking surface. Non stick surface makes for a fast and even clean up.
Breakfast hasn't been the same since...
My helpmeet cooks on this thing all the time. It's perfect for grilled cheese, eggs, bacon, and so much more! Easy cleanup, docile storage.
As likeable as expected.
So many times you buy a issue and find several things that don't fit the hype for it. This time is not one of them. This griddle is indeed a great product that fulfills all its promises. This is the first time I have not had to run two seperate batches of pancakes, eggs, grilled bologna, or hamburgers for my household of 5 in order to have the entire meal ready at the same time for everyone. The space of the griddle is great. Another fantastic feature is the quite-up. A soapy washcloth followed by a damp paper towel and then dry paper towel is more than enough to clean this component lickety-split. I have arthritis so I particularly appreciate this feature that doesn't require scrubbing. It's exact that there are hotter spots in certain places due to the heating coil, but it is no problem moving the food around a bit during the cooking alter to keep the heat even. 4 1/2 stars for this welcome cooking implement for our home.
i'm returning my griddle!
I owned a Presto griddle for 10 years before it started wearing out. I wanted to repay it with another Presto. Like others have said, this one cooks very unevenly. It gives me striped pancakes and sandwiches. It also gets way too hot when you set it on the recommended temperatures. After a a handful of months of getting frustrated I'm finally exchanging it. Looking at other reviews, i doubt i'll get another Presto griddle. I don't advised of how some people are happy with theirs, then some seem defective. Wish it were more consistant.
Recommended...With a few reservations....
We've owned this griddle for a one of years now. It is big. It is easy to clean. It heats evenly. BUT..The build quality is really not great. The handles (shapable, of course) are loose and, although we've tightened them many times, they just won't stay tight. In fact, one of the handles is now cracked due to over-tightening. The other hurdle is that the non-stick finish is wearing off. It's not flaking as I've seen on some cookware. It's actually just wearing thin and the pretty color of the aluminum is beginning to show through.

That said, however, I'll probably be buying another one soon...the size is hard to thrash when making pancakes for a family of 6. It's just hard to accept that, as with most appliances these days, it's basically liquid and will need to be replaced every couple of years.

The fast 19th-century pastry chef Marie-Antoine Carme once said, "The fine arts are five in number: painting, music, versification, sculpture and architecture - whereof the principal branch is confectionery." Now I might not take cooking quite as seriously as Carme, but like most provisions writers and chefs, I've always had the sense that growing and cooking and eating food is right at the heart of compassionate culture, that the infinite weight of civilization rests on top of a plain pine dinner table.

Which is undoubtedly why one of my favorite books of 2009 is Catching Fire: How Cooking Made Us Human by Harvard professor Richard Wrangham. Wrangham, a biological anthropologist and one of the age's foremost experts on primate behavior, has spent a lot of time wondering why some 1.9 million years ago a new hominid ancestor appeared, Homo erectus, who in spite of small teeth, a weak jaw and a small gut not suited to chewing and digesting raw foods, managed to furbelow.

electric griddle?

I valid moved into a small apartment and im looking to buy an electric griddle one that is under $30 any suggestions where i can find a good quality one for that price

My Cuisinart is not wonderful..It seems outlandish to get a whole waffle, without spilling dough.

I thought there was something wrong with the first one, and bought another. It is just as disappointing.

No- a convincing quality one would go for $50. or more.

What is the best brand for a electric griddle?

I'm looking for an electric griddle that is very substantial. Some Teflon is cheap. I really would want one that is not Teflon coated. Does anyone know if any? If not, then what brand would be most superbly?

Well-proportioned Question.

Can I use an electric griddle as a hotplate?

I am poignant to an apartment without a kitchen, and I want to buy as few appliances as possible. If I buy an electric griddle, could I also put a pot on there to cook sauces and pasta?

no the griddle will not get hot get a hot portion and use a pan as a griddle on top of the hot plate
