Breathtaking Griddle
I was surprised at the estimate of the griddle. We are able to prepare our entire Sunday breakfast on our new griddle.
Unimpressed
I purchased this griddle after reading many reviews. I was changed for huge; I had a storage spot all picked out. Trust me...huge. The only spot I could find to use it is atop the dryer. That was precise. My only issues are these; I despise the way the handles pull away to create the "tilt" effect. It lends an unguarded/cheap feel, and makes me think something horrible has happened when I handle it by the handles. I would prefer them to be securely attached, non-moving. And the tilt is minute; you only need a tiny slope to create drainage so why all the hoopla? My other problem is the thinness/cheap feel of the griddle itself. It worked well for quesadillas and french toast but not so good for pancakes. By the moment you get the griddle loaded with pancakes it has cooled down too much to do a good job baking the cakes. It comes back up to temp, but so slowly that the cakes cook too slowly and are stout. You can get around this by cooking fewer pancakes, but then, what is the point of buying a big griddle? I hated it and gave it away to the first person I could con into alluring it.
Significant so far!!
Have truly only used this griddle once so far, but I really like it to this point. It takes a lot of space, but if you want the cooking room, you must restore b succeed space for it!! The price on Amazon was the best also!!
Cold griddle - well actually cold
Maybe it was the one we received - an outlier. It takes forever to get hot, does not get as hot as we'd like, and after 4 months penurious. But hey it was cheap... :-(
Awe-inspiring grill
This grill is astounding. I received it just a day ago...blueberry pancakes first. Perfect at 375 degrees. then today a grilled cheese sandwich at 350 degrees. Absolute also. It heats evenly in all areas. It is large...but then that is what I wanted. Difficult in a sink because of size, but cleans instantly. The instructions enclosed with the grill doesn't say that it is dishwasher safe, as it states in the Amazon.com description. It wouldn't fit in my dishwasher anyway due to its value. I am very happy with this grill!

It's big!
This griddle is unforgivable. Even cooking and easy to clean. It is large, make sure you have a place for storage.
Would hint at this item to ANYONE who loves quick easy cooking!
After seeing friends griddle breakfasts, lunches, and dinners I marked to go ahead and purchase on myself. I knew Presto was a great quality product and found this one around Christmas time. The value was great and we ordered two, one for myself and the other for a gift. It's been 7 months and it's as good as new! The non-stick surface is still great, the heating elements are spaced enough that the whole surface heats evenly. The settings are easy to read and are very true to the temp. I can't get enough of this thing. We can fodder a family of 5 on this very quickly. Fried eggs, bacon, pancaked, hash browns, any sort of comestibles you can think of. I've even used it to stir fry! I will be keeping this one in mind and the minute I see a replacement is necessary I will be purchasing two again!
Very gain value
I haven't had the uneven heating problems others have famous.

Great for pancakes, hash browns. Cooks 2 pounds of patty sausage in 15 minutes.
Unsound heat disbursement
Some men are seemly at what they do at work. Others are good sportsguys. And others are good lovers. I fancy myself as a mean pancake cook.

Oohh boy can I go crazy a tasty flapjack. So I wanted to move away from the standard pan frying and got my self this griddle.

BIG MISTAKE. I have tried it over and over theses few months. It has uneven skin heat distribution. And I used a heat thermometer only to find it doses not get as hot as the dial set temp. Result is my pancakes are not to acme.

Maybe some of the other presto products are ok. Not this one. Back to the frying pan. I'll try makin some bacon.
countless item
this griddle is a immense size for a family of four. i have done everything from toasting sandwiches to frying bacon on it. easy clean-up too!

The fast 19th-century pastry chef Marie-Antoine Carme once said, "The fine arts are five in number: painting, music, versification, sculpture and architecture - whereof the principal branch is confectionery." Now I might not take cooking quite as seriously as Carme, but like most provisions writers and chefs, I've always had the sense that growing and cooking and eating food is right at the heart of compassionate culture, that the infinite weight of civilization rests on top of a plain pine dinner table.

Which is undoubtedly why one of my favorite books of 2009 is Catching Fire: How Cooking Made Us Human by Harvard professor Richard Wrangham. Wrangham, a biological anthropologist and one of the age's foremost experts on primate behavior, has spent a lot of time wondering why some 1.9 million years ago a new hominid ancestor appeared, Homo erectus, who in spite of small teeth, a weak jaw and a small gut not suited to chewing and digesting raw foods, managed to furbelow.

electric griddle?

I valid moved into a small apartment and im looking to buy an electric griddle one that is under $30 any suggestions where i can find a good quality one for that price

My Cuisinart is not wonderful..It seems outlandish to get a whole waffle, without spilling dough.

I thought there was something wrong with the first one, and bought another. It is just as disappointing.

No- a convincing quality one would go for $50. or more.

What is the best brand for a electric griddle?

I'm looking for an electric griddle that is very substantial. Some Teflon is cheap. I really would want one that is not Teflon coated. Does anyone know if any? If not, then what brand would be most superbly?

Well-proportioned Question.

Can I use an electric griddle as a hotplate?

I am poignant to an apartment without a kitchen, and I want to buy as few appliances as possible. If I buy an electric griddle, could I also put a pot on there to cook sauces and pasta?

no the griddle will not get hot get a hot portion and use a pan as a griddle on top of the hot plate
