I've presume from about putting cast iron pots, pans etc in the oven to season them, but how do I season the cast iron griddle plates on a gas crepe maker?

bbq question - gas - when to use griddle and when to use grill?

Very recently bought a gas bbq. it's a grill with lava rocks on one side and a griddle (flat cast iron stratum) on the other. I'm having a bbq on Sat and not sure what i cook on the griddle and what on the grill?

The griddle is healthy for anything that might be too fragile to put on the grill for fear of it coming apart, like loose burgers or salmon-although grilling salmon with it's epidermis on does reinforce it and the skin comes away very easily after the fillet is done.
You could use the griddle also for veggies or beans in a pot or to brown your buns when there's no dwelling on the grill or you can throw some shrimp that may be too small for the grill on the griddle with some garlic butter and lemon and you got scampi!
You could also grill some sausage patties or links, even some downhome boonies ham, and do eggs and pancakes on the griddle too.

We have a Jenn Air gas cooktop (exemplar CG206B) which is probably 20 years old. The unit is clean and has been well maintained. One side still works, this weekend we had the following crop up. To start the burners the manipulate is to push, then turn to light. On one side of the range both knobs do not want to push in. I suspect this may be a 'shelter interlock' and am looking for any advice on things to look for, or a troubleshooting guidel Have been able to mend many simple home appliance issues and yet, this one I am trying to "phone a friend" to see if anyone has hints, tips, or suggestions. We are getting by.. found out you can put the bacon in the oven while you griddle the pancakes this morning... at any rate would understand any pointers.

I concoct that the shut off valves need to be replaced. Did they both fail at the same time ? Sounds to me like one failed and your didnt do anything and now the other one failed. I cant see any sensible that they both would fail at the same time.
