bbq question - gas - when to use griddle and when to use grill?

Nothing but bought a gas bbq. it's a grill with lava rocks on one side and a griddle (flat cast iron sheet) on the other. I'm having a bbq on Sat and not secure what i cook on the griddle and what on the grill?

The griddle is stuff b merchandise for anything that might be too fragile to put on the grill for fear of it coming apart, like loose burgers or salmon-although grilling salmon with it's outside on does reinforce it and the skin comes away very easily after the fillet is done.
You could use the griddle also for veggies or beans in a pot or to brown your buns when there's no live on the grill or you can throw some shrimp that may be too small for the grill on the griddle with some garlic butter and lemon and you got scampi!
You could also grill some sausage patties or links, even some downhome wilderness ham, and do eggs and pancakes on the griddle too.
Use your imagination, Enjoy!

why not do bacon on the griddle or steak? then immediately your burgers on the grill.. :) have fun

You can do veggies on the griddle

Cook items that won't be a patsy for cave in through the grates on one side and use the griddle for items like shrimp, veggies, and fish that need a more solid surface.

The griddle is basically in use accustomed to for breakfast type things. I really can't think of anything other than that or sandwich type items to do on the griddle.
Peradventure sausages and peppers/onions??!!
Have a fun time:)

Cook steak and sausages etc on the griddle and things like eggs fish hamburgers anything a bit more fastidious on the flat side kebabs on the griddle maybe

The griddle is benevolent for anything that might be too fragile to put on the grill for fear of it coming apart, like loose burgers or salmon-although grilling salmon with it's peel on does reinforce it and the skin comes away very easily after the fillet is done.
You could use the griddle also for veggies or beans in a pot or to brown your buns when there's no room on the grill or you can upset some shrimp that may be too small for the grill on the griddle with some garlic butter and lemon and you got scampi!
You could also grill some sausage patties or links, even some downhome countryside ham, and do eggs and pancakes on the griddle too.

I just bought a griddle/grill for my stove top. Do I just put it on my electric stove?

I got it at Bed, Bath, & Beyond. I asked the lady at the checkout if that was what I was alleged to do and she didn't know. She said I MIGHT have to have a GAS stove, but could probably use it on my electric. It's one of those that would I guess overspread 2 burners and one side it's a griddle and the other side a grill. I just don't want to ruin it or anything when I could go get my money back (even though the closest store is 2 hours away). Someone please register me soon so I'll know whether I can cook with it or not. I really appreciate it!
should I cover the burners with tin foil or anything to keep away from burning which ever side I'm not using so that DIRECT heat doesn't get to the bottom of the griddle/grill?

Yes, you put it swiftly on top of two burners. Electric or gas stove, it doesn't matter. My uncle has one like that. It's unusually neat, and convenient. Hope you make some good food with it!

Griddle vs. grill?

Can an exciting griddle (used primarily for pankakes and the like) cook foods (ground beef, chicken, etc.) at least degree as well as a gas grill?
Thanks.

STUFFED GRILLED PEPPERS

3 red syrupy bell peppers
1/4 cup extra virgin olive oil (approximately)
3 cloves garlic, finely minced
3-4 stems up to date basil (1-2 tablespoons chopped)
1/4 teaspoon oregano
pinch red pepper flakes
1 1/2 cups garlic croutons
1 cup raw mozzarella
sea salt and pepper, to taste
dash of paprika

In a skillet, saute croutons in 1 tablespoon olive oil, garlic, red spray flakes and basil for 3-5 minutes. Add mozzarella, cut into small cubes. Toss to combine. Occasion to taste with sea salt and pepper.
Remove tops from peppers, leaving peppers whole. Save tops to substitute later. Remove seeds and cores from peppers. Rub peppers with olive oil. Mix enough remaining olive oil with ingredients in skillet, using only enough to jacket well.

Fill peppers with mixture and replace top.

Place peppers on preheated grill over indirect heat or in the oven at 400°F. Bake until peppers are undeveloped.

Cut each pepper into halves and sprinkle top with paprika for color.

Variation: After peppers are cooked, cut into halves, and sprinkle the tops with Parmesan cheese. Grill 2-3 minutes. Drizzle sparsely with olive oil and balsamic vinaigrette before serving.
