I'm looking at gas ranges, 48" models (dual oven & 6 burner + griddle) on top. We've been looking at dsc, wolf, viking, thermador, etc..
Special experience would be best.
I truly love my Jenn-Air range. I have interchangeable components that can be swapped out. Usually I keep 3 burners and a 2 burner grill. But I also have a griddle component that can swap out with 2 other burners or the grill. It's barely a wonderful range and the $1200 price tag wasn't that daunting considering how much use we get from it.
We've recently purchased a domestic, and are currently remodeling the kitchen. We've inherited a 1960's 35" Kenmore gas range/oven/griddle/rotiss... combo. It was useful until we disconnected it from the gas line to remodel. Our realtor told us he thought we could sell it for $$$$. Is this kind of affair valuable? Should we put an advertisement in the classifieds section/Craigslist? If so, for what price? Is it junk, and should we just sell to the neighbourhood metal recycler? Can I get any money out of it, and how much?
My conjecture is, it's worth a lot more than the recycler will pay you. Think 50's chrome/formica dinette sets, they're getting very popular these days. As for value, you might want to poke around on Ebay and see if you can find something similar, and/or put an ad on Craigslist and ask for offers.

Since your realtor has the animated ideas, sell it to him.:))
I throw away ranges that are from the 90's. there is no inherent value.

Thermador's 2012 ONE, TWO, FREE(TM) Promotion Powers Up With Steam The Pro Comprehensive Steam Range is world's first all-in-one cooking appliance to combine a Steam & Convection combination oven, a full-estimate convection oven, a six-burner gas rangetop with a grill or griddle option, and a warming drawer. |

The SlatGrill Is a Rearrangeable Range for Backwoods Gourmets Since dangling pots and pans over a campfire at arms to the fullest is generally inadvisable and supporting your griddle with large rocks is downright barbaric, you'll need something else to eject your cookware over the open flames. |
