1950's GE Waffle Iron and 1979 Farberware electric griddle

Organist1982 and I tried to finish out some waffles with the vintage waffle iron but the waffle stuck to the grids...maybe will need some more butter ...

I am trying to find a temperature control for my ge griddle. all i have is a cat no of 15gp-it?

Our griddle plates always have white residue after cleaning??

How can we launder them withouth them having this residue that shows up within seconds of washing.
We use our dish soap and let them dry.... of course this is wrong...
They are griddle plates for a GE grill, that are inter-changeable... no metal as far as I can see. Just a non-stick outside...

Bleach on cooking items...?! Not so sure I want to do that.......

After washing, take a daily towel with some vegetable oil on it & wipe them down...
