Wake, Gym, Descend, Pressurize, Drudgery, Eat, Move, Be in the land of Nod; As a regional physician, that is my life story. As an avid healthfulness counsel, 99% of my six balanced meals a day are prepped by myself of all unembellished foods. When I touring or broadcast with friends and household, however, I forbear the cooking to the experts. This blog is about those times....the flattering times. :) When I excursions I concoct it a focus to eat at various places every one ever. I ransack Zagats, Gayot, Frommers, Chowhound, and Yelp for opinions and done glean my index down to a few tremendous choices for breakfast, lunch, dinner, and snacks - I am on occasions undone, consideration never affluent back to the same position twice. Never, that is, aside from places that are really too surprising, affordable, or unequalled to d up. For me, Hollywood's Griddle Cafe is one of those places. No glitz, no glam - nothing but stunning scoff in a wonderful irregular context with some of the most down to world and genial servers out there....and lets not think of the fantabulous prices and mad selections and portions! My third trek to LA in three years once again brought me to The Griddle before a Kings profession and once again by arriving inappropriate we were met with a minimum interval. Seated at a cozy stand (the same one my progenitrix and I sat at during our first trigger) myself and my two companions speedily took in the bustling tantrum and smiled that many of the same faces from a year ago were still there slinging prodigious pancakes, coffee, omelets, and French honour. Having already tried 6 options from the pancake side of the menu I was intrigued to see some new choices on the menu, but this at all times felt obligated to give the French Felicitate its day in the sun - sincerely, it wasn't like either of my companions were universal to exhaust their orders and as such I'd have loads of pancake anyhow. Orders were placed with our cheery server, Trotter, who ironically had valid visited Ohio and that wonderful French Pack of confident Coffee was brought moments later. For my mom, pancakes were once again...

If the griddle is made of toss metal, usually iron or steel, then if it is used daily the heat will kill any germs on the skin. While it is hot, after you have finished using it, douse it with some water and scrape it with a flat, metal spatula. Scrape down into reserviour if there is one and reveal that out daily. You may apply a thin layer of oil if it is prone to rust, which with lots of use, will be eliminated by a "seasoning" layer which you never insufficiency to scour off. If your griddle is portable, take it to the sink after it has cooled enough to handle and clean it with water only. Soap or other chemicals can be buried into the metal and flavor food cooked on it, so don't use them on a good griddle, they are not necessary. Treat the griddle as you would a nice formulation iron skillet. No soap, and clean with hot water only and film it with olive oil after it has dried. Do not use canola oil, perversely to popular belief, it is not good for human consumption.
and what happens if you dont fully it off regulary
When you say griddle I am assuming you are intention a flat top grill....
A griddle should be cleaned with a wet rag and re-oiled about 2-3 times a shift (about every 2 or 3 hours). It doesn't have to be an concentrated cleaning during the shift (hopefully you are slammed with business making money and don't have time for an vehement cleaning), just a good wipe down to pick up any food that got left behind from the last order.
If you don't do this, these spot bits will become rather charred and can alter the flavor of the other things you are cooking. And of course if you never do this it can pose a fire hazard b/c of the grease erect up on the edges and in the drip catch in the front (or back or wherever it is on your griddle)
At the end of the day the griddle should be scrubbed with a metal pot scrubber or grill brush if you want to burn up. :o)
