A griddle should only be cleaned with a guardianship towel and salt, and then resprayed with Canola oil. It is not designed to be cleaned so it looks like new! That detracts from it's cooking abilities. Have a significant day.

Mr. Muscle - its a suds spray/degreaser, which should clean it.

I just bought a griddle/grill for my stove top. Do I just put it on my electric stove?

I got it at Bed, Bath, & Beyond. I asked the lady at the checkout if that was what I was presumed to do and she didn't know. She said I MIGHT have to have a GAS stove, but could probably use it on my electric. It's one of those that would I guess cover 2 burners and one side it's a griddle and the other side a grill. I objective don't want to ruin it or anything when I could go get my money back (even though the closest store is 2 hours away). Someone please advise me in the end so I'll know whether I can cook with it or not. I really appreciate it!
should I cover the burners with tin foil or anything to avoid burning which ever side I'm not using so that Govern heat doesn't get to the bottom of the griddle/grill?

Yes, you put it correct on top of two burners. Electric or gas stove, it doesn't matter. My uncle has one like that. It's Non-Standard real neat, and convenient. Hope you make some good food with it!

The griddle of my Viking range (stove) is covered with rust. What can I do to restore the original finish?

Or at least as though it look better. Thanks.
I don't understand when you say cooking oil, not vegetable oil. Do you mean lard? Is there another way to re-establish the finish without baking it for 5 hrs.
