I've had a Disdainful for years and it's great for pancakes. You'll need to use it a few times to "cure" it. Rush it like you would anything else, but don't scrub off the blackened coating that will build up. That's what makes it good.

I'm looking for a tolerable quality Nonstick Double Burner Griddle for less than $50 can anyone recommend a good brand.

T-Fal is charming inexpensive and holds up well, you should be able to find one for about 30 bucks- or keep looking for sales on calphalon, or on e-bay where there are "manufacturers seconds" ( may have a non noticable mistake or something... ) or places like TJ maxx or Homegoods where they sell calphalon at deep discounts- that positively is the best by far, and will last forever, but with a price tag of 160 bucks, you will need to keep looking for that bargain!

You can get a shape-iron griddle pan that fits over 2 burners. Amazon had them - brands were Lodge Logic, Old Mountain, Le Crueset, and Emerilware.
