Or at least fathom it look better. Thanks.
I don't understand when you say cooking oil, not vegetable oil. Do you mean lard? Is there another way to rejuvenate the finish without baking it for 5 hrs.
My preserve decided to use our brand new Viking stove's griddle and scorched the living day lights out of it. It's now a burnt brown color. What can I do to unstained this? Thanks for any help.
Is it an oven or a run? If it's a standalone griddle used in the oven or on a cooktop, you can try BarKeeper's Friend and a non-scratch sponge to remove the stains. Works definitely well. If it's a range and the griddle is part of it, it's a bit more involved.
I had a Viking range for years before my recent renovation and I recall a process they suggested before the first use involving soapy be unfeasible and vinegar. Then, season it (and keep it seasoned) like a cast iron pan.
Becasue of that, you don't have to clean it after every use, but you can't use sopy mollify or a baking soda solution since it's difficult to rinse. Try warming the griddle a little and pouring soda not ring true it. Wiping with a barely damp cloth. Reseaon the griddle after that just in case.
Cooking spray and corn oil burns on those griddles, so, all being well, that's not your issue here. If it is, viking probably sells a griddle cleaner. Call the store you bought it from and they'll get it!
Good luck!! It should last you years!!
It'll ripen itself with use. Don't use any chemicals (grill cleaner) cause it'll strip the season off and jeapordize the provisions quality (who wants their tortillas to taste like that?) Make sure to oil it down too, using a study towel to evenly spread it. My gramma used to use Crisco to oil hers, but there's many other products out there.
