We had a rage that knocked at least 50 green apples off the tree before they were ripe. I hate to see them go to waste...can I bake or cook with them? Do I have to add more sugar to the recipes?
you can bake and cook with them. Add more sugar than conventional and you might want to par boiled them a little before adding them to a recipe.
I relish to just eat cookie right out of the bowl. I am a litttle afraid of salmonella poisoning. How hot do you have to cook/bake it, or also, how can you remove the hazard without baking fully?
If you are making your own cookie dough use pasteurized eggs or a upshot like egg beaters. Since the eggs have been processed there is no risk (or very little risk) of salmonella.
If you have no intention of baking the cookie dough as a cookie and principled want to eat the dough omit the egg all together. Then go ahead and eat all the raw dough your little heart desires.
Ok folks, I call for your help! My husband bought a duck (dead of course) and I have no idea how to cook it. I assume I can bake it, but at what temperature and for how sustained? It's approximately 4 1/2 pounds.
Pinch the skin all over with a fork .. this will allow the fat to run out and make a crisp skin ... season it with zip and pepper .. Put it on a rack in a roasting pan ... Roast at 350 degrees until golden all over. In a crust pan .. combine 2 cups of orange juice .. 1 tablespoon of shredded ginger .. 1/2 cup of pomegranate extract or the seeds from a pomegranate .. salt and pepper to taste. .. reduce this mixture by half on mid heat. Baste the duck with this mixture every 15 minutes.
Or .. you can butterfly the duck, rush the sauce on it and just let it bake until crisp and brown (about 1 1/2 hours).
