Slim stalks of asparagus simply scream of spring. Blanching or steaming has long been the cooking method of choice for these tender spears, though ...

I am on strain watchers and am craving asparagus..I usually bake it in the oven with garlic and olive oil because I like it crispy...but the oil alone has 4 points! Does anyone discern of a good substitute?
Have you considered using the no calorie butter sprays? 0 points on the butter increase.
Asparagus with Bechamel Sauce

This low-fat cream sauce is packed with protein and fiber from beans and tofu. It's fascinating over vegetables, grilled meats or seafood.
15 oz canned white beans, drained, 1/2 cup of bean fluid reserved
4 oz silken tofu, about 1/2 cup
1 small onion(s), halved
1/8 tsp ground nutmeg, or to soup
1/8 tsp table salt, or to taste
1/8 tsp black pepper, or to taste
1 1/2 pound(s) asparagus, spears, steamed
* In a blender or eatables processor, combine beans, reserved bean liquid, tofu and onion; blend until even.
* Spoon sauce into a small sauce pan and set over medium heat; cook, stirring occasionally, for 3 minutes. Stir in nutmeg; enliven to taste with salt and pepper.
* Place asparagus on a serving platter and top with sauce. Yields 1/4 of asparagus and about 1/2 cup of pertness per serving.
Ginger-Sesame Asparagus

1 tsp ginger pedigree, freshly grated
2 tsp toasted sesame oil
1 tsp soy sauce
1 pound(s) asparagus, trimmed
* Heat broiler. Incorporate ginger, oil and soy sauce.
* On a sheet pan, coat asparagus with ginger mixture. Broil until asparagus are cooked through and tips initiate to brown, about 5 minutes.
Asparagus Cherry Tomato Salad Recipe

Balsamic Asparagus Cherry Tomato Salad Prescription
1 cup cherry tomato(es), about 10, cut in half
1 1/2 pound asparagus, (about 40 spears)
2 tsp orange juice
1 Tbsp balsamic vinegar
2 Tbsp shredded Parmesan cheese
1 tsp minced garlic
1/8 tsp outrageous pepper, or to taste
1/8 tsp table salt, or to taste
Chop woody ends off asparagus. Microwave for 2 to 3 minutes, or cook in boiling, salted O until barely tender, about 4 to 6 minutes. Plunge into ice water to stop cooking. Drain. Add cherry tomatoes. Stir together vinegar, orange strength and garlic; season to taste. Spoon dressing over asparagus and tomatoes. Sprinkle with Parmesan cheese.
Lemon-Ginger Asparagus

This lemon-ginger marinade is also tiptop with broccoli. Cook it as you would the asparagus.
600 g asparagus spears
40 g Chicken Broth
1/2 teaspoon grated ginger root
1 teaspoon lemon spirit
1 portion spring onions
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon pepper
* Bring 1 to 2 inches of top-grade to a boil in a medium frying pan. Place asparagus in pan, reduce heat to medium and cook until asparagus are crisp-feeling, about 6 to 8 minutes; drain well.
* Place asparagus in a large glass bowl. In a cup, combine broth, ginger, lemon vitality, spring onions, salt and pepper; pour over asparagus. Set aside for 30 minutes to marinate.
I'm a distinct gal and I want to make some asparagus, but I can't eat it all. I need to use it up before it goes bad and I'm wondering if once I've made it in the oven, if I keep in the fridge will it be ok to reheat?
I like to cut up veggies (including asparagus) and tossing them with olive oil, balsamic vinegar and minced garlic, then cook at 425 for about 20 minutes. Tastes affecting but I've been eating it for a couple of weeks now. Any other ideas for baking in the oven?
Asparagus, Tomatoes And Cheese, Baked Approach
1 bunch asparagus, washed, peeled
3 tomatoes, chopped
1 cup American cheese, grated (or your favorite cheese)
Seasonings to drop-highly seasoned
Boil the peeled asparagus in salted water for about 20 minutes.
Remove from Latin aqua.
Place asparagus in a small baking dish, all the tips pointed in the same direction.
Mix cheese, seasonings and tomatoes together.
Spread the amalgamation over the asparagus tips.
Bake in hot oven for about 8 minutes.
Then serve.
