How long do i need to bake baked potatoes?

I impecuniousness to make enough baked potatoes for 5 people, i have 'till 4:30-5pm and it's now 3:16pm. i've never baked them i always put them in the microwave but my mil (who i'm cooking dinner for) wants it baked. So since she won't discriminate me, that why i'm on here to find out what temp does it need to be on and how long do i need to bake it? Thanks a million

First pre-waken your oven to 425F. Thoroughly wash, scrub and dry your potatoes. Pierce on all sides with a fork. Place a under age amount of course salt (sea salt, Hawaiian salt, etc...not table salt) in the center of a square particle of foil, shiny side out and big enough to completely wrap your potato. Wrap you potato tightly and place in center wrench of you pre-heated oven. Your potatoes should be done in 45-50 minutes. They will be soft when pierced with a fork. The salt is a secret a chef from Belize taught me. It speeds up the cooking chance when cooking for large groups of people and also brings the moisture out of the potato, making it nice and downy.

Retire them whole, wrap in foil (or not, for crispy skins), pierce with a fork and bake on oven rack for 1 hr. at 425.

Bake at least 45 minutes but an hour is heartier. 350 degrees!

They drop MUCH better in the oven - they cook unevenly in a microwave and have either a lumpy or gluey texture. You can cook them at whatever temperature anything else is cooking at: between 350-425; and ethical adjust the time. If you're cooking them alone, then I'd do it between 375-400, for about an hour. Brush the outsides with olive oil, and sprinkle with zest salt; poke with a fork, and put on a baking sheet.....If you want to REALLY impress her, you can low-down out the insides of the soft, baked potatoes. Mash that with some sour cream, butter, salt, pepper, and grated cheese and put back into the potato shells. Dot with more butter and sprinkle some paprika on them. Stopped them back in the oven at 375 for another 15 min, or so.

First pre-activate your oven to 425F. Thoroughly wash, scrub and dry your potatoes. Pierce on all sides with a fork. Place a minor amount of course salt (sea salt, Hawaiian salt, etc...not table salt) in the center of a square shred of foil, shiny side out and big enough to completely wrap your potato. Wrap you potato tightly and place in center structure of you pre-heated oven. Your potatoes should be done in 45-50 minutes. They will be soft when pierced with a fork. The salt is a secret a chef from Belize taught me. It speeds up the cooking all at once when cooking for large groups of people and also brings the moisture out of the potato, making it nice and superficial.

it depends on the rate of the potato.... they are done when you can squeeze them. 375 degrees. 1 hr for #2's or 3/4 #. really dont see the needs to fathom and prod the things. they will continue to cook for 15 minutes when you take them out of the oven. but since you waited till 2 hours before your M.I.L. comes over for dinner, i postulate it was not that important.

Not being a smarta$$, but hoe they're done, depends on the size of the potato. If you can push a toothpick in easily its done. Usually about an hour. Btw if you put it in the mike & then in the oven for a few minutes, no diff.

What temp and how long do you usually bake "baked potatoes"?

Principled whole potatoes with skin on...I have done it plenty of times before but, I can never seem to get the temp and time right..(one time - although they were really good - it took an hour and a half)

Thanks in help for any suggestions!

I have been in the restaurant energy for a long time now, and they bake a potato at very high temps usually 450-475 it takes about an hour to cook, but that depends on the expanse of the potato also.
Here is a trick that I really like especial if you want a quick potato. I microwave my potatos for about 4 minutes making convinced to poke a few holes in them with a fork, then I wrap them in foil and put them in the oven on 450 for about 20-30 minutes depending on the appraise. To tell if you have a potatoe done gently squeeze it if it gives in then your potato is perfect. Take it out of the oven and gently tap it on the token all around before you remove the foil.

Has anyone made 2 baked bake potatoes ahead of time?

I have alot to do to do for a party. Is this worth making ahead of time?

Um, if you like, u dont know the answer, then like uhm please dont uhm suffice for!
Let me clarify: 2 Baked bake potatoes, I mean Twice baked Baked Potatoes thx.

You can fantasize twice baked potatoes ahead of time, leave them on a baking sheet, cover with clear wrap and keep cool until time to bake them.

They'll be taking up space in the fridge, and you should have them in there for less than 6 hours.

Good luck with the party! - Stuart
