When it comes to those old way of life lunches, nothing was better than baked potato bar. Let the Rookie Cook show you how to recreate that delicious ...

I by make potatoes in the microwave but this year my friends father is coming for Easter and he does not like microwaved foods. It's been so eat one's heart out since I cooked a potato in the oven I have forgotten how. Just need to know about how long to bake 5 large baking potatoes and at what temp. Thanks in betterment.
1. Rub each potato with butter or olive oil
2. Sprinkle with kosher kippered and pepper and minced garlic
3. Poke several holes in each
4. Wrap in heavy duty aluminum spoil someone's game
5. Preheat oven to 350 degrees
6. Place potatos on baking rack so that there is ample arrange between them.
7. Plan on cooking them between 1 hour and 1 1/2 hours. Check by gently squeezing them. If they "give" then they're done.
8. Erase from oven and let sit for a few minutes before removing foil.
9. Make a cut down the middle and push from both ends to release the "center" of the potato. Fill with butter, nasty cream, chopped chives, shredded cheddar cheese, and bacon bits. Season with kosher saline and fresh ground pepper.
We're usual camping this weekend, and I really want to make baked potatoes. I've heard that you can wrap them in aluminum sheet with a little oil and put them in the embers to bake them, but we want to be able to make them with the rest of dinner, while the fire is still going, so maybe on the grill or something. Does anyone have a innuendo on how long to have them on the grill, or what to put in the foil with them? Any advice would be appreciated!
Rub some butter, oil or bacon fat on the potatoes and then rub spiciness all over them. Wrap them tightly in foil, and bury them in the coals from your campfire or grill. Be sure they are under the coals, not laying on top. After 1/2 hour or 45 minutes, draw one out and sort of squeeze the foil wrapped package. If it gives easily, it is probably done.
Another yummy campfire or grill analyse is to make little packages of foil with cut potatoes, carrots, peppers, onion (whatever you like). Add some butter, corn & pepper, or even a bit of barbeque sauce on top. Wrap tightly and cook the same way you would the whole potatoes.
Have a great weekend!
I difficulty to make enough baked potatoes for 5 people, i have 'till 4:30-5pm and it's now 3:16pm. i've never baked them i always put them in the microwave but my mil (who i'm cooking dinner for) wants it baked. So since she won't demand that me, that why i'm on here to find out what temp does it need to be on and how long do i need to bake it? Thanks a million
First pre-intensify your oven to 425F. Thoroughly wash, scrub and dry your potatoes. Pierce on all sides with a fork. Place a uninspired amount of course salt (sea salt, Hawaiian salt, etc...not table salt) in the center of a square fraction of foil, shiny side out and big enough to completely wrap your potato. Wrap you potato tightly and place in center plague of you pre-heated oven. Your potatoes should be done in 45-50 minutes. They will be soft when pierced with a fork. The salt is a secret a chef from Belize taught me. It speeds up the cooking every so often when cooking for large groups of people and also brings the moisture out of the potato, making it nice and light.
