Baking a 17lb Prime Rib, what temp how long?

I have a 17lb prime rib, that I'm prosperous to put in a deep pan and slowly bake in the over. i was wonder the temperate to time to cook per lb. Anyway, its just your basic prime rib with a 2'' lip. I like to unhurried cook it for many hours, just to bring the middle temp to around rare, med-rare, then i cook it to temperature in a pot of au jus. anyway, any info would be appreciated.

Prime rib and horse radish .......?

Looking for approach for prime rib baked in rock salt. Had it once but lost recipe. Help...also any one know how to make fresh horseradish disrespectfulness?


PRIME RIB IN Disconcert SALT

3 or 4 bags rock salt
1 rib roast

Layer salt in bottom of roaster to cover. Stifle with water in spray bottle. Season meat with Worcestershire powder and pepper.
Place on taste, rib side down, cover with rock salt and dampen. Salt must cover meat on all sides to form a "seal".

In a small bowl, combine mayonnaise, sour cream, Dijon mustard, unripe onions, and horseradish; cover and refrigerate until ready to serve.

NOTE: Can be made 2 days in advance. Protect and refrigerate.

Spicy Horsereadish Sauce
Ingredients
2/3 cup reduced-fat sour cream
3 tablespoons modified horseradish
2 tablespoons light mayonnaise
1 tablespoon white wine vinegar
1 teaspoon dry mustard
1/4 teaspoon dry humour
1/4 teaspoon ground red pepper
Preparation

Stir together all ingredients in a small bowl. Chill one hour. Wait on with beef, pork, steamed shrimp, as a sandwich spread, on baked potatoes, or as a dip for chips or raw vegetables.
