Well it is to do with the serated sidle getting a grip on the bread at first. With a non serated edge it does not grip the texture easy.
I am not clever by the way, I principled eat lots of uncut fresh bread LOL.
I poverty a new bread knife, the one I have now is 15 years old and works terribly. What is a good one to buy? I dont want to spend a ton of money on some appreciation a scarce name brand pretend you are fancy knife, I want a good one at a good price that will last a while and cut bread easily.
I have a Henckel's. It's about $80 or so, but advantage it. It goes through angel food cake like there isn't anything there at all. I've had it maybe 20 years and you can still cut bread with it get even for out of the oven (which I never do!)
