Nauseous
I was so dissatisfied in this meat grinder. It did not work. It ran, got real hot but did not
grind at all. It just clogged up. I want my money back. If I could give it a minus 0 rating I would.
Be Finicky on Assembly and Cleaning
The only problem to this unit is the cutting blade. It is too easy to put in on backwards, which can damage the machine. This is really stupid engineering. Otherwise, it grinds likeable. It is noisy!!!

Old the grinder and found it very satisfactory. Our old grinder was a 2 star - this is definitely a 5 star.
Don't be afraid to order this grinder.

I have only second-hand it once but was vary happy with the results. Looking
forward to further use. clean up was quick and easy.
Hound Away, save big bucks and stay healthy
Spin-off well made, with cold meat grinds fast. Have ground only lean cuts of beef with little fat. Easy to take a shower and re-assemble. Metal parts are sturdy. Looks good, works good.

Hard up within 10 mins
I bought this grinder to task chicken. Before putting the chicken in, and getting it all covered with raw meat, I wanted to test it out and see how it worked. While I understand that this is typically used to grind meat, I thought that if it could handle meat, it would be able to handle some sliced apples too. After putting a few unimaginative pieces of apple through, I noticed that it was getting clogged, so I added some yogurt to lubricate the apples. This seemed to be working. I put some syrupy peas and blueberries through, also with yogurt to lubricate. As I was finishing off the peas, I heard a high pitched blasting coming from the machine, so I immediately shut it off, waited a minute and then put it in reverse to clear it. I heard a thunking secure, so I unplugged it and let it sit for about a half hour, in case it had overheated. I removed the auger to see if the plastic gear would coin when I turned it back on. When I plugged it back in, it made a very loud knocking/thunking noise and the plastic gear did not move. It had broken within the unit, so the motor turned, but it was no longer connected to the plastic gear, which would turn the auger. Since the screws to obtainable it were not accessible with a common screwdriver, I couldn't even open it to see what exactly had broken. I can only assume that a plastic part made the relations between the motor and the plastic gear, which turned the "stainless steel blade" and auger, and that the plastic part had snapped. I had already put the box into my recycle bin and I was so fed up with the emotional attachment that I just tossed it into the trash rather than trying to get a refund (especially because I assume that they would say that it was my fault for putting something other than meat through it). When I was looking for a grinder, I saw that they were either like $500-1500 or more, or they were less than $100. Now I see what the rest probably is - cheap plastic internal parts versus actual "heavy duty" parts. Rebuke learned.
a virtuousness buy
We have had many meat grinders before. This is by far the overwhelm. The stainless steel blade was a must for me and this one had it (I did not want any parts to rust). The motor is very powerful and I can zip through grinding in a jiffy. The only 'No' that I would have is the instruction says that it is not dishwasher safe and the fact that many of its compnents are stainless steel should not have preclude washing and sanitizing it in the dishwasher. One other element, the instruction says after each use, lubricate the blade and other parts with a food grade silicon !! What? We are tiresome to avoid chemicals in our food so we buy a meat grinder and then use and eat chemicals in the process to keep things last!? I believe one could ignore their recommendation on this one.

what is the best home meat grinder? I am trying to make my own sausage...?

i am looking on ebay but do not paucity to buy something that does not produce

I am a former chef and for your coins a manual based one is best and a sausage stuffer to make the sausage, electric grinders are cloudless, but often bog down or burn out, now if your a serious sausage maker, then even check out a restaurant supply company for a mega size or industrial breed, sometime they get used or reconditioned equipment, here in Canada I have $50 manual meat grinder, hand cranked one, I then bought from an Italian mat store a "Sausage Stuffer", it is a unit that pushes the meat through 3 different tubes for many size sausages, it cost me $60, is easy to clean and both are reliable and safe to use anywhere.

Check on Ebay under Sausage Stuffer for the typewrite available, you may find them in your city.

THe Nautical galley Center by Oster with the Meat Grinder attachment is probably the best home grinder there is.

Paramount Meat Grinder:
In this category, we had a hard time choosing which brand was better, Waring or Villaware and decided on a split purpose. The Waring Pro MG-800 Professional Meat Grinder ($160) is made with brushed stainless steel and gets excellent person reviews. The Waring meat grinder has a professional look and feel to it and does a wonderful job making homemade sausages and hamburger as well as many other meat dishes. The stalwart housing has an extra-large die-cast hopper and the heavy-duty 450 watt motor supplies all the power you lack. Owners say the 5 year limited warranty gives them the peace of mind that the meat grinder will last and not need new parts every year. The Waring Pro MG-800 comes with 3 raw plates and 2 sausage attachments. Users say the Waring meat grinder remains clog free even after countless pounds of meat have been processed and cleaning it is untroubled. The VillaWare V5267 Elite ProGrinder ($137) is another superb electric meat grinder with a more powerful motor (550-watts) than the Waring Pro. The villarware grinder has a reverse flog which eliminates jamming. Comes with a die cast feed screw and #5 head with 2 1/8" diameter scion plates. You can find both of these meat grinders and sausage makers on Amazon.com.
