Presto Cookers
I have acquainted with stainless presto pressure cookers for over 30 years, This was a gift to my daughter.
Leaks steam
Leaks steam. Have to run the burner so acrimonious it scorches the food on the bottom before the safety lock and gasket will seat. Yes I removed and cleaned the gasket. Not de rigueur
Well built, quiescent, good looking, and gets the job done.
Blanket, I am very happy with this cooker.

Good parts:
* It is surprisingly quiet and easy to use.
* It looks better than its photo.
* Stainless grit one's teeth cleans easily in the dishwasher.
* Fantastic value.

Minor nits:
* Some assembly required (screwing on the handles).
* Would be delightful if it had a fast pressure release valve.
* The including steaming rack is too shallow (less than 1 centimeter).
* The short deal gets hot (this is probably unavoidable though).

Interesting results:
* Cooks fantastic baby back ribs (2 1/2 lbs) in 40 minutes.
* Consummate pearled barley in 16 minutes.
* Not suitable at all for steel cut oats (they foam and jam the vent).

Presto 6-quart Aluminum Pressure Cooker
I bought this as a ability to replace an old aluminum one my dad had. He loves this new one and it works better than the old one.
Person Service
When I got my Pressure Cooker from Amazon.com,My suppress put the handles on. Great job, I thought. When I tried to use it for the first time, the lid just wouldn't go on. I tried and tried to no avail. I called my daughter, she came and she couldn't get the lid on either. I called the Presto Throng and the lady there said "try switching the handles around. As a Nurse, I fixed it..and voila..it worked. I cooked the outwit roast in town. My husband said "I didn't put those handles on wrong" SURE..
cooking with Presto.
I have had no problems with the pressure cooker so far. The six quart weight is big enough for a whole chicken. The package comes with a few recipes which are a good starting point, especially since cooking times for rare kinds of meat are provided.
My main issue is that all the ingredients in a recipe will be cooked for the same amount of time, so that some of them will be overcooked. A workaround is suggested. Items like vegetables which take less convenience life to cook than the main meal cooking in the pressure cooker, can be prepared seprately in the normal way, and then added to the rest of the breakfast. A few minutes of cooking will then blend in the flavors.
Had it for years, still in fancy!
I bought this pressure cooker at Wal-Mart about 8 years ago. I use it all the heyday and still love it. I have only had to replace the rubber parts once, which was easily done at my local hardware store. You just can't pulsate a pressure cooker for last minute meals!

Happy New Year, Belated Seattle Post Intelligencer (blog)

Hey, I be informed it seems late to be writing about New Year's, but I'm still finishing the leftover Cinnamon Bread French Toast I treated myself to on New Year's morning at Portage Bay Cafe. And that was rightful the start of a great day.

The day before, I got the idea to invite some women pals over on New Year's for Hopping John and games. (I like impromptu parties. Nobody expects much.) Then one of my friends, who is recovering from chemo, said she'd attraction to come, but her guy had driven two hours to be with her, and... We wanted to accommodate her. So we found another friend with a guy, and that made two, and then I remembered some guy I'd met at a Mountaineers Adventurous enough Night, but I couldn't quite remember his name: Ed? so I worked my way through the alphabet, hoping to jog something out, and then through my discarded emails, until I found him.

I made the Hopping John in my pressure cooker, and guests brought joint things, like Niki, who brought two baby bok choys from her CSA box and sauteed them up for us -- or should I say, sauteed them down, because those babies tried shrink. We had the last of Sue's homemade oatmeal chocolate chip cookies, the other Sue's cucumber salad, and stuff like that.

Where can i find stackable separators for a 6 quart pressure cooker?

I have a Presto 6-Quart Stainless Nerve Pressure Cooker. I’m looking for stackable separators (aluminum or stainless steel or other type that work in pressure cookers) that will fit my pressure cooker. My grandmother Euphemistic pre-owned to cook multiple items at once in the pressure cooker and I can't seem find anything like the stackable inserts/separators/pans/containers that she old to use in India. I’m not looking for the steamers that have holes in them but ones that are containers. I’m located in U.S.A. and hoping someone has some ideas of how to cook multiple items in the pressure cooker or where i could find separators.

My pressure cooker came with the divider for canning, but not stackable..haven't seen that. Anyway, try contemporary to the Presto website and see if they sell it as an accessory. Good luck!

I have been wanting to buy a pressure cooker and was wondering?

This is a 6-quart pressure cooker. I saw it in my teeny home town hardware store. They are doing a close out on them and they are asking $35. I have been trying to do some comparative shopping when I go to other stores, K-Mart, Wal-Mart & didn't even see one in either of those stores. Is this a attractive thorough price? This is not a Presto. It is some other brand I have never even heard of before. What do ya think ? Any opinions ?

I adapted to to use a pressure cooker much of the time but now i prefer a slow cooker. Cooking on high when it gets hot it will boil. I am ready for a new one -larger. I let my nourishment cook either most of the day depending on the recipe. It is very good for pinto beans add a small amount of chopped onion-1/2 of a flat one. You start out with a few beans so you need to rinse & soak them first and check on water until the cooking is under way. It is good to cook chicken roast or vegetable soup or any other soup. I even realize Dumplings in mine. When you get a pressure cooker try to make sure it is stainless steel You may want to go on line and check out those type that don't set off. They are expensive but if i get another one that is what i want(they had them at the fair in different sizes) Aluminun is not safe for cooking because it comes off in your eatables. I bought a cheaper one and it did not last me very long nor did it work right. You may do fine with the one you have found. It could be one that has been in the store awhile and therefore a good parcel out.
