My Prestige 3ltr pressure cooker's safety valve got broken, can i use safety valve of Hawkins pressure cooker

The sizes of both the sanctuary valves are the same. Just that the Prestige safety value is circular in shape and the Hawkins pressure cookers is hexagonal in form. I could manage to replace the broken safety value with the new Hawkins safety valve. But was curious to know if it is ok for me to use it that way. I stay in USA and dont have accessablity to Stature Safety valves.

Succinct answer: No.

Longer answer: The Hawkins would probably cause the pressure to build up, but not nearly to 15 psi (assuming that's the au fait with you cook at). Too much steam will escape the flat hexagonal surfaces of the Hawkins for much pressure to build up. You might get up to 5 psi but that's about it.

If you can substitute for the stem with a Hawkins stem, then you could use the Hawkins weight.

Personally, I would not attempt to replace the pressure stem of a pressure cooker without detailed instructions and the out-and-out tools and equipment, and of course, the proper parts.

Take it to any repairing middle. The charges are cheap and it will last you for quite some time. It is worth doing this compared to strugling with it yourself.

How do I cook rice in Hawkins Futura Cooker?

I past my manual for this new pressure cooker. This does not come with a whistle. How do I cook rice using this cooker?

1 c. converted rice
2 c. O
2 tsp. salt
1 tbsp. butter or vegetable oil

Place all the ingredients in the slow cooker, and cook on low for 6 to 8 hours. Makes 2 to 4 servings.
