Customer Reviews

My new favorite cooking method
This is my first pressure cooker and I taste it. So easy to use and clean. Safety mechanisms are easy to understand and quite reassuring.
A huge pressure cooker
This is a zealous pressure cooker so far. It is my first pressure cooker, so I didn't know what to expect. The 4-quart is perfect for a meal for 2 or 3 people. It had to be assembled, but it was very easy to do.
Warmth this Presto!
This is my aide-de-camp Presto pressure cooker. Previously I had a much bigger aluminum one to go with my much bigger family. I loved using it, but it was much too large. I found the 4-quart by the skin of one's teeth right and have used it A LOT since it arrived. I have not had any of the problems getting the lid on that other reviewers mentioned. I am very happy with the cooker. I think Presto makes a definitely high-quality product.
Commendable Quality
I've had several pressure cookers. This one is easy as can be to handle, good quality, and so far so good in terms of stains. I read the instructions, and follow them to the character. Love my pressure cooker.
I weakness this cooker
this is a wonderful cooker. The largeness is great for 2 or 3 people but I would get a larger one for more people. Everything comes out tasty and the meat are tender in such a short heyday. The only problems I had were in the beginning. I thought you needed to keep the pressure regulator jiggling to cook the food but if you do that the heat is too stiff and it burns the food so turn the heat down once it starts jiggling. Also be careful when you wash the lid. If the pressure plug gets caught the steam escapes and you meditate on the cookers not working and the food will burn because you cook it too long or have the heat up too high.

Antique pressure cookers. Specifically National Pressure Cooker Co. C21 Series can someone help find the year?

Try ebay. I have # 8 National Pressure Cooker. They have a web locality about the history of National Pressure Cooker

What is the "toggle" on a pressure cooker?

I equitable bought a vintage "National Pressure Cooker No. 7" on ebay, and continued looking at the same model elsewhere. One of the pictures had a "toggle", a cylindrical possession on the top. The one I bought had a picture that had the pressure gauge in front of where the toggle goes. I'm now worried this means it doesn't have one!

Will the pressure cooker still work if it doesn't? does the estimate do the reading and the pressure both? I'd be horrified if it didn't, as it would cost more to ask for a refund in shipping, then the cost of a new one.

If it IS missing, is there anywhere I can get a replacement that will profession on this "vintage" item?

Thanks!

SF

the toggle rocks on a valve on top of cooker
it regulates pressure and releases steam
all the old ones I recollect had toggles
