My pressure cooker's gasket seems to have expanded over a couple of days? How to fix it to its original size?

If it's replaceable don't rub out your time or risk a pressure cooker accident by doing nothing short of replacing it. Chances are the seal came in connection with something that caused it to swell.

It may reduce in size down the road but I wouldn't trust it. Do the safe inanimate object and replace it.

I have several pressure cookers and two pressure caners. The seals on my cookers also seem to be expanded, but once the lid is on, there is no chink. As long as you are not loosing steam, don't be concerned. The danger with pressure cookers is a failure to let off excessive steam (pressure) and they at the end of the day explode. All of the newer models have safety valves built in to prevent this. However, I like the Mirror marque that has a weight on top of a hollow stem that allows steam to escape when the correct pressure is reached. It is almost foolproof. Escaping steam is a legitimate sign.

i have a pressure cooker of 'repute' brand. unfortunately, the gasket has wore out. i've been looking for spare parts on the net. but i can only find sellers from abroad. therefor, i would like to know if any of you know where can i find this particular part in malaysia, i would highly appreciate it. tq very much
