Does any one use a nettie pot for their sinuses?

I began using a nettie pot about a month ago because I would get so stuffed up at eventide I could not sleep and I was getting alot of blood from my nose,,,,,,,,it has helped but the last 2 nights the salt denouement has burned like heck to the point my eyes tear up. Any ideas why this would happen? And does any one have a several more effective solution they use instead of my one cup water to 1/4 tsp salt?

Add a hardly any baking soda to your solution. Just plain salt and water burns my nose so I always add baking soda. Or buy the Neilmed premix crap.

You may have a yeast infection of the sinus hole. You need to see a doctor.

I use one every few days and it does better. I use the 8 ounce water with the Neilmed packets. If you have questions call their number 1 877 477 8633 I'm sure they can confirm recommendations. Good luck.

My sister does for her sinus ache problems and gets a good result. I considered it but I find that the saline nasal spray in the pharmacy worksfine for my sinus demands problems.
I wonder if you are especially sensitive right now due to allergies or temperature changes so that may be why you are getting the flaming. I would continue to do it though but maybe with a weker solution.
Good luck!

Add a mini baking soda to your solution. Just plain salt and water burns my nose so I always add baking soda. Or buy the Neilmed premix junk.

Can I use regular table salt in my nettie pot?

I recently purchased a nettie pot and sweet the result but have run out of the special nasaline salt that came with it. Can I use regular table salt in it or will I need to find some more of the inimitable salt made just for a nettie pot?

well-proportioned salt

How long does it take for a nasal irrigation system or nettie pot to work for allergies, cold, sinitus?

When I 1st acclimatized the n.i.s. (np) it was like, "Thank God"! My sinuses were clear. I felt wonderful when I blew my nose and I slept exceedingly well that night. It was as if the mucus was lodged, and I dislodged it and I thought my issues with sinuses for over. That feeling ended the next day.

Here I am 5 days later and I am still conjested. I have enchanted cold medicine and anti-histamine on and off the last couple of days, but they're not making much difference either. Should I well-grounded keep trying the irrigations or could they be part of the problem?

The nasal irrigation, faint medicine, and antihistamines work well in relieving the symptoms of allergic sinusitis or rhinitis, but will not cure an underlying shape. If you are still experiencing congestion you might consider seeing your doctor as you may have a sinus infection. Sinus infections can last for weeks. You did not say if you have had any other symptoms like fever or a cough with the congestion or have justified gotten over a cold or flu. If you have, then most likely you have an infection requiring antibiotics.
blessings!
